Exciteburgs: Trick Flying Preview

Another hope I have is that I'll be able to find a physical copy of this game, it looks so awesome that it'll sell out quickly!

...Oh wait, the MRSP is $99.99? Hm, maybe I should wait for a price drop...

Retro Game of the Week: Rocket: Robot on Wheels

It's been a long time since I've played this game, but I remember liking it and thinking it was close to the quality of Nintendo's offerings (which, unfortunately, was a bit unusual for third-party games). I don't remember having issues getting stuck or confused, however I'm pretty sure I didn't beat the game so I may have had trouble near the end and gave it up. I'd like to return to it. Someday...

My Big Dumb Day

Nice finds. I picked up a complete copy of Shiren for $2 a while back, but I didn't really play the game as I ended up playing something else I bought with it. It's probably also too hardcore for me, but I should still probably give it a shot sometime...

Fun Nintendo Related DLC and Bonuses

I feel like the crossover franchises in Mario Kart 8 cheapens things a bit, they feel out of place thematecally. Aside from that, the new tracks are a good addition, though seem a bit under par compared to the base game tracks. 200cc is a good add for racing fans, though it can expose some collision glitches if people go flying off the track.

My look back @ Super Smash Bros. (64)

In some ways, this is still my fave game in the series. I at least like the gameplay the best. The main downside to this game is how little content there is, which was later fixed in Melee, but I didn't like the speed increase. Then the series took a huge downturn with Brawl, and the latest pair of games isn't that much better. I don't like the changes to the mechanics, and the items and stages got way too powerful and random.

Donkey Kong Country Review

I first played this game in 2010 and I still had fun with it. The graphics look a bit messy on large modern TVs, but not enough to be distracting. I agree it holds up well enough to be worth playing today for anyone who likes platformers, even if I think the sequels are better.

I had to look up what GOG was. Interesting. Looks like there's a PC version for this game also, I have no idea if that has any differences.

Duke Nukem: Zero Hour

Ha ha, that's pretty funny. I don't think Tomb Raider had anything to do with it, though who knows what may have inspired them. The original Duke Nukem game was a side-scrolling shooter, so they may have decided to put Duke back on screen now that the technology allowed it for a 3D game, as a way of returning to the series roots.

Club Nintendo Being Discontinued

I have to wonder why they feel they need to make a whole new program rather than just improve Club Nintendo. I just hope they offer some good closing rewards, because I have a mountain of coins.

I think people who are glad about this are assuming it will be replaced by something better. But I don't think it will meet our idealised expectations, so people are just setting themselves up for disappointment. Which is pretty much what we all did with Club Nintendo for six years.

That's an insane amount of data. Isn't that more than ten times the original game?

Then again, I guess companies don't care about compressing games anymore. Even though it still matters a lot because of storage space. Lame.
