I got my Olimar amiibo a few weeks ago. It's still in the packaging because I don't have a Wii-U yet. I almost bought one today though, but I thought maybe it would be $250 and it was $300. If there's a Black Friday sale, I'm gonna get one.
The supply issues are all because Nintnedo is so cautious about over producing. It must be maddening for anyone trying to get a complete collection.

I think what Kotaku is experiencing must be common practice with every other type of product and their press. Developers (just like politicians) want to manipulate and control the press for their own ends. I'd like to hear the other side of this complaint - what devs think of Kotaku. Do they view them as malicious?
