I own the game for PS3. It is such a unique experience. One of the freakiest games I have ever played, but I like it. Thanks for all the background story on it. Think I understand things a whole lot better now.

An Epic Birthday Blog!!! Hope it's going well today. Like those air checks. THPS is one of those game series I think everyone digs. One of the few sports games in my collection. The third one is my favorite, but I have played most of them. Thanks for the great primer on ska. Only thing I knew about it was Mighty Mighty Boss Tones and No Doubt. Always thought ska was a pretty cool type of music. Have a great birthday!
I have to let you know that the close up shot of Cate is from the sequel. On the PS2 version of the first game she is still lovely. Just not as polished and animated.
I saw the sequel once at Wal Mart. It was a PC game that I should have bought. Don't think it would run on my computer now, though.
You should look at some YouTube clips from The Avengers. Will give you an idea about the show. Diana Rigg played Emma Peel. I think Cate Archer is based on her somewhat. It seems like a lot of English metal bands love football. Iron Maiden is one. Those guys go out and kick the ball around a lot during recording. The Hole comparison is spot on. They were lumped in with that group. The singer of The Distillers,Brody Dalle, kind of retired from music after that band broke up. Got married and had a kid. But she is back now in a new band. I think her singing is like that because they were considered a punk band. She tried to have a raw sound to her voice I think.
Happy Birthday! Hope you have the day off, like I do. Time to have some fun. I really liked the show you talked about. Carmen SanDiego was a cool concept. It taught kids about the world and geography. It never ceases to shock me how little young people nowadays know about geography. Even their basic surroundings are a mystery to some. They could not even show you on a map where Texas is! And these are kids in Oklahoma! Nice music picks today. Especially The Good Natured. And those tubes I do remember. We had some in our music class in elementary school. The metal version of that Britney Spears song was cool, too. I agree about the Usher song. I liked that song because he is just so damn smooth doing it. Lil Jon makes any song better, too. That guy cracks me up!
The blonde is Aby Wolf, she is a friend of Dessa's and records stuff of her own. I have a few of her songs in iTunes.
I suck at fighting games. I can admit it. Still own several of them. Mostly Soul Calibur and Dead Or Alive titles. I don't understand how folks pull off those elaborate combos. The kind where you have to hit like 8 different buttons. I'm literally a hack!
I hope that he ends up where he deserves to be. I understand K-Mart is hiring! With his experience I'm sure he could become assistant manager in no time.
Street Fighter games have always challenged me. Usually just kick my ass! I love the music you chose. All the songs instantly take you back to the 60's. especially The Zombies. That was so freaky seeing Kenny Rogers like that! I knew he did different music before going country. Just never saw him doing it before. My favorite song by Simon & Garfunkel is Bridge Over Troubled Water. But this one is second. Those guys were amazing songwriters. And they could harmonize very well. I remember Concert In The Park. That was one terrific concert when they reunited for that.
