I played Lufia and Mystic Quest out of these. Mystic Quest is actually the only SNES game I own complete in the box lol. My cousin was obsessed with that game, and he didn't even like rpgs. It may not be the best FF by any means, but it surely does have some great music. The battle theme is by far my favorite out of all the FF games. It rocks! 
I also got that GTA Vice City vibe from these songs. Did you play Retro City Rampage? That was a fantastic downloadable game done in an 8 bit over the head GTA style.
It's utterly insane lol. The worst part is that I read somewhere if you die at any of the 2 or 3 bosses after 6-2, it starts you all the way back at 6-1. I guess a flawless run is necessary if you want to finish it.
I forgot about Persona 3. I was thinking more along the lines of the Disgaea series. Some of the English voice actors were awful. Then again, Atlus just published it lol. So ignore that previous comment. Usually I set the voices to Japanese if possible. It seems like they put a lot more effort into it.
I actually prefer text over voice acting. Mostly because it's easier for me to read something than listen to (usually) annoying, crappy english voice actors. Especially where Atlus is concerned lol. Sounds like a cool game. I'm gonna see if my brother has it.

I'm playing Ninja Gaiden right now, and I'm sure you know how cheap that game can be lol. Damn birds and 6-2 is a nightmare! I don't mind though. I've been trying to beat that game for over 20 years, and it's gonna be glorious when that day comes. I don't get much satisfaction from modern games anymore, but I do still play them. The way the industry is headed makes me sick. Always online DRM bullshit, used games are in trouble, and what not. I don't plan on buying a next gen console. Especially not after all the crap surrounding the Xbox 1.
Great song Philip. I loved the violins. I couldn't really get into Wild Arms, but based off this song it sounds like I missed quite a bit lol. 
It's nice to meet you Paul. I've been knowing your brother Philip for a while now. We was friends on 1up. I have a lot of great memories playing games with my brother too. Although nowadays all he plays are rpgs.
