I haven't played 5, but I enjoyed 4, mostly because of character creation. I think character is a big deal for fighters. That sucks though that the story mode is so lame, a lot of people enjoy a deep story mode in fighting games. I will probably stay away from this game.
I like Mario more than Luigi, but Luigi still has a special place in my heart. I prefer SMB2 over the others as well. That game was weird!
yeah that's how I feel too. the only problem with the 3DS version is you have to play through the normal version first to open up the Master Quest. I've played that game so many times I couldn't do it again. But I would have loved to play the Master Quest. Maybe one of these days I will beat it again.

I'm sorry for your loss, Joe. Losing a pet is really hard. We have such little time with them, but that time is so great.
I never owned Super MArio Sunshine. I hear so many good things about it though. I was too busy playing Wind Waker.
Ninja Gaiden has aged great. Sure, some of it still looks totally Xbox, but it's just designed so well, it just hasn't gotten as old as other games of its generation.
Ocarina of Time knocked me off my feet too. I'll never forget how much joy that game gave me.
that's about as long as it takes me to download a PS3 game, including download failures.
