Blog Trouble!

Posted on 12/21/2013 at 01:58 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Might have been the photos that were problematic in mine as well, because I had the exact same issues. I copy/pasted from Google Images, though, not my phone. Also, in order to resize my photos, I had to go to adjust the image settings by typing new dimensions into the dialogue boxes, where I remember being able to just clicking on, highlighting, and dragging an image to make it a different size before.

Nintendo Still Wows Me with 3D Classics!

Posted on 12/21/2013 at 01:54 AM | Filed Under Blogs

That's awesome! I'd love to play classic games in 3D. $6 is a much more reasonable price for a game with a gimmicky effect than what Nintendo was asking for when it re-released NES games like Zelda II on GBA. I think it was like $15 at the time, if I remember correctly. Ridiculous.

I'd actually say a lot of movies are trending towards more depth 3D like 3DS than the pop-out 3D as of late, but maybe that's just movies I've seen. To be honest, I prefer gimmicky movies where stuff constantly flies at your face. I don't really see the point of "fall-in" 3D in movies, but then I love what I've seen of 3DS kiosks that have the same depth effect to them. I guess it's because movies are visual, so I like the thrill of things coming at me, but with games it's just cool that I can see a 3D effect at all while I'm playing.

I'm 23 Today

Happy birthday! I turned 23 this year as well. In fact, being born on March 23, this was my "Golden birthday." Which is odd, because mostly my year was shit. But I guess now that I'm on break and the mayhem is behind me, I feel better than I have in a long time and feel much more confident, so maybe it turned out ok after all.

I feel your pain on the baby face. People talk to you like you know nothing. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from a university and am in Graduate school. People have no right to speak to me like a child! It's frustrating.

Good choice on the music and I want some of that Dante cake. At first, I thought it was a Vash the Stampede from Trigun-themed cake.

To being an old man trapped in a young man's body! Cheers!

Deeper how? Like is it too repetitive, do you feel like there should be a larger moveset for characters, etc.?

Not yet I don't think, but they are planning on adding new languages.

Indie Game: The Movie

Posted on 12/21/2013 at 01:35 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I didn't get that impression from the Super Meat Boy creators. McMillen was weird and his older game ideas were kind of gross, but he seemed like a really cool, normal dude. Refenes was a bit more abrasive, but honestly, I don't disagree with his assessment of many modern games being shit. They definitely never presented their game as high art, either, from what I gathered.

As for the other two games and developers, I thought Phil Fish had pretty much the reaction most people would if they were in a situation as stressful as his. I can definitely see how Fez could be seen as an art game, which doesn't bother me, but I don't think he was being overly pretentious about his game from that angle if that's what you were worried about.

Jonathon Blow on the other hand, yeah, he literally told people who gave his game positive reviews that they didn't "get it" so I imagine you wouldn't like him.

I think it's worth starting up on Netflix and giving it a chance, though. If nothing else you can stop it or skip scenes if you don't like it.

My Top 10 Genesis Games

I agree, Sonic 2 is the best Sonic. I played Aladdin and Toy Story on SNES and dug those as well.

Lion King, however, I can't remember if I played on Genesis at a friend's or on my older brother's SNES, but I remember not even being able to get past the first level, cause it was so damn hard.

Xbox One's 24 Hour Check-In DRM caught on video during Killer Instinct Tourney

Yeah, I kind of suspected this video might have been making a mountain of a mole hill that had beans inside of it. I mean, they resolved the issue quickly enough as it is, and I hadn't heard a whole lot about there being a big problem with XBOX ONEs doing this. Glad to hear the link is fixed, though. It's good that you stay on your toes when it comes to stuff like this even if it might just be speculative, cause who knows how these companies will try to screw people or go back on promises.

Quick Hits: Mini Rant, I Won A Contest, Randoms

That is a huge blog, man, but I definitely appreciate the deals you mentioned. Might have to check those out.

Congrats on the Treme cookbook, man! I wish I would have got on GetGlue when they still sent stickers. Oh well. Let me know how the Adobo turns out if you make it! If I decide to go to Louisiana any time soon, I'll see if they have any.

I wish the Dallas Desperados were still around. AFL games are much more fun to watch live in the arena than any other sport for me. I will rag on you a bit and say that KISS is kind of an unfortunate name for a football team, though. And, well, you already know about the uniforms, so I'll leave you alone. lol

As for the music on Google Play, I'm so glad you posted this! I love a lot of those old songs they have posted in that image, so I have no complaints there. Hell, I prefer a lot of that to new stuff. I may need to pick up that Marvel Puzzle Quest game on Steam as well, thanks for mentioning this stuff, man!

I have a bone to pick with you, though. First, to hell with rude, lying Gamestop employees. Good on you for telling those people the truth. Second, you like In N' Out Burger more than Five Guys?!

Ok, there must be something different about In N' Outs in California as opposed to Texas, because neither myself nor anyone I have talked to from Texas understands the big deal about In N' Out. I mean it's serviceable, I guess, but I certainly don't think it's anything special. I don't consider it as being even close to the same level of deliciousness as Five Guys. Sure, Five Guys is a bit too greasy for me, but at least it's got a special flavor and great fries. I'd be willing to make a bit of a trip for Five Guys. In N' Out is just a standard fast food burger joint, in my opinion, and even then it's one of my least favorites. And yes, I've had animal style.

I guess we'll just chalk that up to regional differences in taste. At least we agree that zombies aren't that special and Christmas music is good. lol

I don't watch Duck Dynasty, but my Facebook feed will not shut up about it, because of course they won't, it's a religious and/or political issue. I did make a status about it that was merely a joke, but I also commented a thread a bit more seriously. We'll see if I wish I hadn't done that when people start seeing it. I probably will. Should have just posted jokes and left it there. I can still post jokes, though. I'll post more jokes.

Anyway, have a good one man, thanks for the heads ups on those deals!

Blake's Top 10 Games of All Time!!

Well, my brother owned the Playstations in the house, and I wasn't allowed to play M-rated games at the time the first Silent Hills were released. As for Resident Evil 4, I honestly can't tell you, but I have looked into getting it for my Gamecube.
