In my mind this cat definitely has a Russian accent lol

Gaming's Greatest Remakes #18: Lunar: The Silver Star

I've always meant to get the PSP version of this game but have never gotten around to it. Of course, I already have a backlog of RPGs on that system. The PSP was flush with great RPGs. Still, I'd like to have it.

I remember when N was a free downloadable computer game, back before they added any arithmetic signs to it O_O

I had assumed it was PC-only but then I heard an interview with the developers on Axe of the Blood God and they mentioned how it was coming to consoles as well on day 1. Plus it's only $50 instead of $60 for some reason o_O

I'm looking forward to Torment: Tides of Numenera at the end of this month. Everyone seems to have forgotten about that game Undecided

Nothing but GOOD Times: Favorite Consoles

Posted on 02/21/2017 at 10:28 PM | Filed Under Blogs

My three were: 3. PS4. 2. GameCube. 1. SNES. So I'm down with 2/3 of your list lol. (Not that I didn't like the N64 but hey, had to whittle it down to three.) The GameCube, especially, doesn't get enough love. I always find it weird when I read about siblings who were super territorial with their systems. Handhelds I can understand but consoles? Regardless of who put up the money for something, my brothers and I shared things pretty equally when we were kids.

Books 1-6 are just really great fantasty but things started to bog down with #7 and onward. Book 10 is the low point, I think. It's just so slow. But I thought Knife of Dreams was a move in the right direction. But yeah, Brandon Sanderson did a fantastic job. Man, that Last Battle chapter in the final book...holy cow. I do wish there had been a bigger confrontation with Padin Fain at the end. It was cool the way he went down but it seemed a little anticlimactic because it was so quick.

Episode 106: Allow Myself to Introduce...Myself

Julian, could you start making a quick comment in these posts when you record the next episode as, like, a cut off for Stage Select and Chrono Crossing? I commented on Episode 105 only to discover that I was apparently too late for 106, and that was pretty depressing.

Stage Select

3. PlayStation 4 - Really loving my PS4. Between my wife and me it gets used all the time. So many cool games to play these days.

2. GameCube - This was my "coming of age" console and I played so many great games on it (too many to mention...except Metroid Prime, my all-time favorite).

1. SNES - Do I really have to justify this? The Super Nintendo was the best. Totally not being influenced by notalgia for my childhood or anything...

Chrono Crossing 2000 - Chrono Cross

Let's get this out of the way up front. Chrono Cross is a bad sequel to Chrono Trigger. But taken on its own merits as an RPG it is fantastic. It's a gorgeous PS1 game, has one of the best soundtracks in gaming, it's plot is full of twists and turns, and the battle system was very unique. I've played it several times and would love to go back and experience it again.

It's so difficult to get out to the movies when you have little kids. I'm not sure what the last thing we even saw in a theatre. Might have been The Force Awakens O_O

I finished The Wheel of Time last year! I was happy with the ending too. I mean, I had a few nitpicks but sheesh, ending something so massive after the original author passed away? I thought it turned out very well.

BaD #14: Nintendo Adventures

Yeah, NP was a giant commercial but an effective one. I have a lot of good memories from it. *gets out old man soapbox* And ya know, kids today will never understand what it's like waiting anxiously for a magazine to come in the mail. Everything is just right there at their fingertips online.
