I'm calling it now, Nintendo of America is going to localize this too and Last Story. Just wait, the news is going to come at E3.
Also, awesome. Even if NOA does drop the ball, I can still import this copy of it and it'll even have Japanese voice acting which is win.

So it looks like despite the seeming lack of interest around my area, the system has done quite well for Nintendo. I'm curious to see how it wound up stacking up against home consoles. I'm not sure outselling other Nintendo handhelds is much of an accomplishment in the grand scheme of things.
One thing is for sure, most people who bought it are the core market. Can't imagine how this is going to take off when it hits the blue ocean.
I just went and checked back on the Capcom website for ID 256. That particular page leads to nowhere still and entries have been placed after it. Not sure if that means anything, but I just figured I'd share the update.
I debated scoring this 4.5, but ultimately I think 4 is a more apt score. It doesn't really take the series to new places (though I am glad to see it back), and its replayability hinges entirely on a player's tolerance for perfecting their scores in missions. For me, Pilotwings is all about that, but I realize that most are going to blaze through the missions and quit when they're done.
That being said, if you're a Pilotwings fan, you could consider the score as half a point higher. The presentation is the real killer here, as is the play-it-safe gameplay that doesn't move the series along in any meaningful way.
I'm somewhat interested in this game, but honestly, I've played very little of the console version at this point so there's not much of a reason for me to pick this up.
I'll probably grab it in the bargain bin some months down the line, as I would still like to have a fighting game of this caliber on a handheld system.
I'm going to give this game a shot and grab it alongside Pilotwings Resort at the Toys R Us buy 1 get 1 half off sale. I'm hoping it's good, but I'm honestly not expecting much.

Oh snap, that would be amazing. I was reading on the Noby Noby Boy wiki that they added 2 player support - I might have to boot that one back up now. I bet it's pretty cool with another player.
