That second analog "nub nub" is like an Ewok: too small, and completely unnecessary.
I have no interest in this slight upgrade to the 3DS. The only thing that would sell it for me is one killer game, like if the next Etrian Odyssey was on it. Then I'd have to let Nintendo rob me by getting this barely upgraded 3DS. Phoey!

I was looking at the distribution company for Sky Shark, Romstar. They were based in California and licensed lots of games I never saw in the arcade on the East Coast.
By buddy Mark and I played it co-op all the time. There's something about the pattern of planes as they come into the screen that seems designed for two players. Playing one player has you moving left to right too much making it harder to avoid all the stuff coming at you.
I forget how much it cost when I played it, but it being 50 cents or more could've added some incentive to memorize all the moves. I know I tried to memorize the whole game.
They should bundle all the Dragon's Lair games into one. I just saw there was a DL 3 listed for PC in '91.
Yea, that happened to me too. Got stuck on the edge of a machine gun nest for a second or two. I like the opening where you see the plane crashing in the forest. Don't know why.
I knew the 80's would go fast. I almost chose Phantasy Star or Ys though. That could've taken a while.

I really liked the new Splatterhouse. I love brawlers and it made me think of X-Men Origins: Wolverine in its variety of attacks. So many moves to learn!
It's possible I didn't see Ikari Warriors because I wasn't going to arcades much in the second half of the 80's. During that time I remember 1943, Hat Trick, maybe the four player Gauntlet and Sky Shark.

My fav Steppenwolf song right now is "Faster than the Speed of Life". I always change the last word to "light" in my head. Then it's a nerdy scfi song. Yeah!
