I liked D&D, but never played much in high school, the people who played were far too serious about it and I got ejected from my first game for not taking the game seriously enough. Apparently, my mom didn't get the memo, because she sat me down one day to discuss the dangers of not understanding fantasy from reality. She was kind of a disease-of-the-month mom, and kids commiting suicide "from playing too much D&D" was in the news a lot at that time. I just remember looking at her and thinking "Seriously, Mom?"
I've had games I was looking forward to delayed, sometimes for a long time. I'd rather have something delayed than have a broken game.
Well, either way, I won't be playing it for a very long time, as I just can't justify the expense of a new console in my current financial circumstances.
Thanks, interview is tomorrow AM.
Did you play the Christmas levels of Costume Quest (Gubbins on Ice)?
I got sleeping Dogs free through Games With Gold but didn't play it until recently. I had a blast with it.
Playing: Funny you should mention Legos... Been playing Lego Batman (the first one) the past couple of days. Finished the story and now going back to mop up.
Reading: Not much of anything. Still at the Old Forest Chapter in The Fellowship of the Ring.
Watching: Jason and I watched Gravity last night. I don't see what all the hype was about. Also been marathoning the current season of Hell's Kitchen.
Eating: Barber Foods Apple and Brie stuffed chicken breasts, rice, and green beans for dinner last night, leftovers tonight. I thuink I'll make a corn chowder tomorrow, and maybe bake some ginger snaps.
I've never actually quit gaming, but I have had long breaks and dry spells. I was an avid PC gamer in the 80s, but that ended when I moved out of my parents house because back in those days I couldn't afford a computer of my own. Then I played the heck out of my Genesis, until games were hard to find, and took a long break until we were gifted with a hand-me-down PS1 after Jason's little brother got a PS2 for Christmas when they first came out. I also take extended breaks from gaming just because other areas of my life get busy. I spend more time doing outdoorsey stuff and reading, but then I come back to gaming.
The Deep Sleep games are flash games and are available in a couple of places: Armor Games and Kongregate are the two I know of. I played them on Kongregate.
