Holiday Haul

Posted on 12/29/2014 at 12:23 AM | Filed Under Blogs

If you're more inclined to one of the newer consoles, I'd nudge you towards the PS4. Either way, 2015 is going to be a big year for either console. And no matter what some may say, plenty of good games came out this year for both. But one of the selling points for purchasing one back in August was to prepare for the metric fuck ton of titles hitting us within the new year.

But, really, you need a PS4. ;)

My Christmas Haul

Shadow of Mordor is a blast. I used some gift money to pick up DA:I, which is downloading right now. Looks like you got a sweet haul!

What A Disappointing Year

Posted on 12/28/2014 at 11:47 PM | Filed Under Blogs

If a game year seems less than stellar, in my experience, I chalk it up to an inescapable fact: that I haven't played enough of the offerings that were made available (the same applies to movies/tv/music). Every year generates special stuff. It just isn't always in the same places where we found it previously. Buck up. It's not as bad as you think.

PSN Flash Sale. Combo of Who Cares? and Still Too Expensive

Picked up Dragon Age: Inquisition for the PS4. Same price for PS3 version, too. This really needs to be the last game that I buy for a while.

Your thoughts on Sony & Microsoft getting shut down because of Hackers

This isn't the first time this has happened and it won't be the last. The tech will just have to get better, which it will.

I've Hit Rock Bottom! Somebody Save Me!

I think everyone has to decide what they're comfortable with and recognize what it is they're looking for. I don't mind formulaic approaches to game design as long as the end result pushes my buttons the right way. I try to bounce between different genres so as to not spend too much time on one (for fear of overfamiliarity or boredom; there was a point in the late '00's where this happened to me regarding FPSs).

2014, It's A Wrap: The Many Regrets

Diablo 3, Luftrasers and Shadow of Mordor are three of my favorite games of the year. Seek 'em out with confidence.

The Witcher 3 Delayed Again!!!!!!! GGGGRRRRR!

Posted on 12/11/2014 at 12:18 PM | Filed Under Blogs

Multiple delays isn't uncommon and in light of the disastrous releases of some recent games (AC: Unity/Rogue, Halo: Master Chief Collection), I think its a wake-up call for developers. If they can afford to take a hit financially and delay the release to fix as many bugs as possible, they should. In the recent press release from the studio, they specifiy that as the reason itself.

I'll be interested in playing it, but I have tons of games to get to before it arrives. And 2015 is packed with so many promising titles.

Got Going With Gamefly Again

Posted on 11/21/2014 at 09:16 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I restarted my Gamefly membership for similar reasons. When I finish Wolfenstein: The New Order (hopefully this weekend), I'm gonna send it back in and hopefully get Shadow or Mordor. Too many games...
