Xbone folds: Has Anything Really Changed

Posted on 06/20/2013 at 01:01 AM | Filed Under Blogs

Forced into it! to right they were. They kept hanging on as long as they possibly could hoping that Sony would follow suit, they must have dropped a steamy one after they heard Sony's presentation. Your right about complacency too, Microsoft and every other company will get away with what they can, the only developer who has the ball of steel needed (or idiocy) to go full steam ahead without comprimise is Nintendo, but their exclusives really are exclusives, Nothing else in the current market plays as many different instruments as Mario and Co, from driving to platform and RPG, they  have it all covered in a unique fashion.

What I think about MS's changes: Now it's a "war"!

To be fair your probably right, Sony were more relaxed this time around, It seems that every time one of the big three is king of the console wars, they get overtly arrogant in their next release. Sony ruled after the PS2's success and I think some of that went to their heads when they released PS3. They got some flak however and this time have stood at the back of the class a little more sheepishly while ignorant big boy Microsoft and arrogant know it all academic Nintendo started firing off their shit cannons. Nintendo are paying heavily with the Wii U and whilst it could still take off I think they were too hyped after the success of the wii, failing to realise that the wii catered namely for the causual family scene . Sony have done alright by me this time round.

I applaud Microsoft for their decision to reverse what they had initially planned, but I don't hold that decision against them either. There is a lot of speak about being insincere but for me that was pretty obvious, what I don't really get is the individuals on the net who are tossing off Sony for not being 'retarded'. Both Sony and Microsoft have shit on their customer base on more than one occasion and they will always do so as long as they make money. Microsoft were incredibly honest here and the brutal trurh is that they really don't care, unless the masses speak. Only Nintendo can get away with this level of pig headedness and thats because they are continuing to ride the crest of a wave their franchaises have produced since digital gaming pretty much began. Sony knew better than to make those announcements so soon, especially after the early performance of the PS3.... but they were thinking the same thing. If Microsofts proposals met with anything other than an Ice cold reception you can bet that Sony would have done the same.

Killer Instinct Preview

I ve waited for a new Killer Instinct game for years so I'm pretty gutted that I'll miss out on this latest installment. The speed and flow looks pretty good and whilst I like the graphical stylings I'm not sold on the character re-designs. They should have left them as they were , enough time has passed between installments for the original look to be a major selling point for the new game..... they'd better not mess with my Fulgore!

Still really need to play BioShock infinite. I enjoyed the first two and reckon I'll have a time with this one too, though I'll probably end up playing this a bit further down the line when I see it in a second hand store for next to nothing.... I might as well enjoy that sensation whilst I can!

Art and design, I quickly realised after leaving Uni that you don't need a degree to be an artist, so I went into teaching to give it some purpose, though I ended up really enjoying the job so stuck at it.

Well, this is interetesting

With you on the 'considering a PC set up'. I think it could be the way for me to get/ do everything I want to gaming wise, though I am still tempted with a PS4 at the moment as well. It may sound daft but I really am going to miss the opportunity to use Xbones controller, apart from the D pad my 360 controller was probably the most comfortable one I ever used!

Hopefully within the next few weeks I will be able to, The Aussies require a shit load of paperwork in order for me to 'prove' that I can teach and even then I have to do a ridculous ammount of extra work for standards, despite the fact I ve been a teacher for nearly seven years and three of them were at head of department level.... deep breaths..... to be honest though I'm just looking forward to getting back into a class room ASAP. I miss being told to F off

I really enjoyed State of Decay when I first started playing but after finishingthe game so quickly I reckon it'll be a while before I load it up again. The main reason is that the game keeps you busy with little side missions, the same survivors going 'missing' sometimes only a few meters from your home base. They needed much more detail in how you can upgrade, allow you to take a party with you if you went Zombie hunting, different vehicals being to do different things, carry more people/ materials etc, fortifying you home so that Zombies cant actually enter it etc. But as you say it does set up a great promising future.

What an awesome fathers day pressie! My old man has very few hobbies so all I can ever really buy him are books, which at least is relatively cheap. I'll be maiking sure that any kids of mine know that I want games! and possibly comics.
