Sony Just CURBSTOMPED Microsoft

Hadoken? More like, "Sony wins. FATALITY."

Vindication.

That's exactly it, Brian. Microsoft got caught up in its own arrogance and hubris, a la Nintendo when they announced cartridges for the N64 and Sony when they announced a $600 price point for the PS3. The difference is, Sony was able to turn things around. I don't think MS is going to be able to turn this around.

Vindication.

Microsoft did all of Sony's work for them. Sony just had to sit back, watch, and they were ready at every turn at E3. They just did to the Xbone what they did to the Saturn. Microsoft got sodomized.

I disagree. Let Microsoft talk, if they're going to pull this crap, so they can keep hanging themselves. For consumers, forewarned is forearmed. :)

Super Nintendo Lives! How To Play Today

Posted on 06/05/2013 at 06:50 PM | Filed Under Blogs

I enjoyed the SNES. I still have mine, gotten in 1994, and it still works, with about 13 games. I do have the emulator on my computer, but I really don't like emulated games nearly as much as the originals. Emulated games on PC never look, sound, or play as good as the originals. The only stuff I have on emulator are fan-translated games like SD3, Tales of Phantasia, and Romancing SaGa 3, as well as Earthbound, and I will no longer need that ROM once Earthbound hits the Wii U VC this fall.

I love used game stores. My favorites are Vintage Stock, Game X-Change, and a local store in Lawton, Oklahoma called Game King which I visit every time I work in Lawton. My primary passion in game collecting is 5th-generation games (PS1, N64, Saturn). The PS1 is a bottomless treasure trove of RPGs,  the Saturn has some of my favorite rare games,  and the N64 also has some unusual titles.

Project A-Kon 2013

I tried to go to A-Kon. I love anime conventions, and I'd have liked to have met Cathy Weseluck (the voice of Shampoo from Ranma 1/2 and C-Ko from all of the Project A-Ko movies except the first one). Unfortunately, I had a blinding migraine headache the past weekend and was not up to doing the two-hour drive to Dallas. :(

MNSG didn't have a battery-backed RAM save chip in it. Like all of Konami's N64 games, you had to use a Controller Pak to save.

Loved Lunar 1 and 2, and Alundra was great too. On the Saturn, I understand they were trying to bring English versions of the hugely popular Sakura Taisen games, and it's a pity Bernie Stolar's Sega of America shot them down on that. I love the Sakura Taisen series. Sakura Wars on PS2 is one of my favorite games ever, and I would have loved to have seen the earlier games in English.
