The Greatest Game (and series) Ever

Posted on 03/04/2013 at 02:57 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I started with MGS4.  Yeah I thought it was a little much at the end but I still really enjoyed it.  I played Metal Gear Solid on PSP and just got through the boss battle with the guy in the tank in the snow and started the next level but I got distracted and put it down after that.  I have to go back and finish, I was lovin it at the time and have no idea why I put it down.  Xbox live has 2 and 3 on sale together for 9.99 and I had to buy it.

Indigo Prophecy

I forgot about this one.  It's definetly in my top 5 of all time.  At the time I played it, the game was so intruiguing and gave me an experience different from any other at the time.  It was also the first and last game I bought used off the shelf at Gamestop that I didn't know anything about except what the box told me that day.  That was a great payoff.

You do WHAT now?

Most people just don't understand things outside their own comfort zone.  The Gamestop near me is pretty cool.  Although I don't see to many other females in the stores buying games while I'm there, I'm treated very well.

I can tell some people at work think it's childish, but that doesn't bother so much.

I'm 35 and have always been a strange female.  I grew up on metal music in the 80's, loved horror movies, played guitar, did video games, and now play drums in a band.  I never wore makeup, enjoyed shopping for clothes, shoes, etc.  BORING. In fact I found out recently that for a while my family questioned my sexuality and whether I would ever get married because of my strong Tomboy interests.  My husband does question my gaming sometimes, he thinks it's bad for me because I play instead of sleeping enough at times.  At least he means well.

Anyway, funny story.  I used to visit my grandma and stay with her a week every year.  She was a VERY DEVOUT Christian.  One night I left out my Stephen King book, The Eye of the Dragon.  When I came down stairs the next morning I saw her bible laying open by the chair with my book laying on top of it.  She then lectured me on how that stuff was evil and showed me in revelations that the dragon was the devil.  Good Times.  :)

Still Surveying Planets in Mass Effect

I really enjoyed exploring the planets too.  I think I got almost every one completed except one or 2.   The one with the snakelike creature that pops out of the ground and chasing me around was one of those.  I just couldn't kill it.

Castlevania - Lords of Shadow: Mirror of Fate Demo (3DS)

Thanks for posting this.   I sold my 3DS because I just stopped playing it.  I loved the DS Castlevania games and had totally written this one off.  I enjoyed this GOW style play, but never felt like it was really Castlevania.  I'm glad there's some hope for the new title.

I love those Bioshock ideas too.  Beer and bioshock...perfect combo!

Funny story:  During the election, everytime I saw the Obama/Biden signs my mind would say Obama Bin Laden..... lol  at least I laugh at it.

Ubisoft Announces Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag

I realize this series is supposed to be great.  But how much Assassins Creed can people really play before they puke?

What Gamers Want, and What We Don't Get.

I agree with the shortage of creativity in creating puzzling/challenging experiences.  This really didn't begin to hit me until 2 nights ago.  I went by Redbox for the first time in a while and saw Crysis 3 was available so I got it.  The game has great reviews and metascore but I was bored by it.  It's still more of the same.  Added onto that, look at the new tomb raider reviews.  It's supposedly a good game, but obviously with references to RE6 and Uncharted the puzzle elements are gone.

Badly Written Reviews You Can Use

Looking forward to your reposts.  I missed most of your reviews but liked the ones I've read so far.
