I'm still interested in RE: Revelations. If I don't go with Dragon's Dogma it's another canidate. I also agree Jill is awesome, sandwiches or no sandwiches.
Happy 10th,Cary. That's quite a milestone you've been doing Gamer Dad that long!

I like God-Of-War styled combat and KOA had that in spades. However, I still kind of got bored with it. I will say I like the graphical style more in DD. Reminds me of Dungeons & Dragons which is a big plus!
Yeah, DD does seem to have better lore from what I've seen in my research. I don't understand how someone can live after having their friggin heart removed though. lol.
That's good. KOA is a decent game but it did get repetitive & the "lore" behind its' world wasn't interesting at all. (Despite being written by RA Salvatore) I also couldn't get over the basic look of the fey. lol.
Thanks,Blake. Yeah, I do love good combat but then again Amalur had good combat too and I ended up putting it down. I don't mind a lack of quick travel but the slow start might be a tough hurdle for me to get beyond.
White people are crazy! (I'm White so I know this for a fact. lol.)
Would be awesome. Meryl was hawt! Psycho-Mantis also creeped me out when he read my memory card and told me "You like Castlevania!". Hey buddy, that's my own business!
S/E simply puts too much into Final Fantasy while neglecting everything else,Celt. I'd love to see a "big console" Parasite Eve game myself. 3rd Birthday was fantastic when you consider all the limitations of it being on a handheld. Again, it's not everyone's cup of tea but I took a real shine to it!
As for microsoft I'm glad they did a 180 but it's only because they created their own finacial disaster. It's not as if it was done out of selfless altruism or anything. lol. Still, I don't have any angst towards gamers who get an X box 1. I just rather go with a PS4 because it's $100.00 cheaper and because sony came out of the gate supporting us. Sure maybe they pulled a sly "Little-finger tactic" but it's better they did that as opposed to going along with microsoft's "new vision of gaming".
I believe the console will do well personally. It'll probably be like the PS3 was this gen. Aka, have a bumpy & crummy start but eventually it'll pick up its' stride and have really nice exclusives.
Be that as it may, I think it's kind of unfair to turn angst upon gamers who are still angry about how the system was originally advertised.(Not talking about the podcast itself, mates. I'm more talking about that meme at the bottom. lol.) Let's be frank. EVERYONE was pissed off about how the X box 1 originally was and you can't blame gamers for being paranoid even after microsoft said "Oh, we're sorry! We take everything back!".
We were also told from the start by Nelson and Mattrick that the system was designed from the ground up to support its' features yet look how easy it actually was to change it. You can't really blame gamers for not trusting these guys. They're more slippery than eels.
I have nothing against gamers who will give microsoft another chance. We really need competition to encourage creativity and innovation within the industry. However, we shouldn't level any vitriol at gamers who are not so quick to forgive. You know the saying. Once bitten twice shy!
