Points well taken. I do tend to look at things from the perspective of an informed consumer nowadays, so games aside, MS needs to make some adjustments for me to consider buying their product.
Sony more like murdered the competition. I saw some remains being piled up from the warzone at MS conference. It's like Game of Thrones.
You got me there Lee. Deactivating your console if no internet is stupid. Damn you well presented games on MS stage. You almost swayed me.
Now if they can only make a decent Mega Man game for WiiU.

I don't think that people celebrating PS4 know they have to pay for online or that some version of DRM may still exist. PS4 may not be paroling you, but yeah those online passes may still exist for some games.
Well let's be serious. Game companies only see demographics and pie charts and rarely see real people as customers, just customers. So as businesses they will always appeal to who they believe to be the majority, teenage white males who like guns, sports and tv -- and occasionally knights, wizards and dragons. Of course we don't all fit these demographics, but publishers aren't going "listen" to us anyway. It all reminds me of the MS conferenc when the Battlefield 4 audio went out and the announcer yelled at the audience to be quiet. "You all shut up and love our games, it's got guns and splosions just like our research said you loved". Of course he didn't actually say that, but that's kind of how I feel when I see a torrent of military shooters and hack-a-thons year after year. I love my shooters and action games, but a little variety would be nice. Look on the bright side, just buy games with girls in them and go on facebook and say "Put more girls in these games". 
Peach is a playable character in new 3D Super Mario World on 3DS.
Aveline will be playable in the new AC black flag pirate game.

Hold your horses Lee, well a couple of things about PS4 you should consider is that:
1. PS4 requires PS+ for multiplayer games, will no longer be free online service.
2. First party games may be DRM free, however, software companies that wish to implement this will be able to. So games from EA, Ubisoft, etc may still make you do this regardless of system you choose.
3. So the final cost of PS4, includeing PS+ is 399 + 50 a year for online. Those are your two models basically. 399 (offline), 449 (online).
PS4 still looks better on paper, and overall on DRM policies, but this should be pointed out.
Well we have FFX HD and Lightning Returns to keep us busy. Also FF 14 in my case.
I don't know how much of this internet rage will affect sales. MS has good games but bad marketing. It's like WiiU all over again. It is a good console, and has TV features too, but people don't know WiiU is new. They thinkg the gamepad is just an add-on accesory for Wii like WiiFit. Of course the DRM thing was bad too, who knows. And let's not forget the creepy cam and the NSA spying news that appeared at the same time making MS look even worse. PS4 had a better message overall at their conference that spoke to "gamers". I do like Master Chief's the giant robot thingy and Dead Rising looks pretty sweet.
