BaD 2017.20: weekend warrior.

I'm literally listening to your comments as I edit right now. :)

Get Out had a lot of humor, but my audience was only laughing when appropriate until the very end. I think the moment right before the climax was so intense that when shit hit the fan the audience needed to laugh.

Huh. I never felt like I had to grind at all, other than to get my last trophy. But that was less grinding, and more manipulating things to create the situation I needed.

I felt like so many of the missions were super free with how you could approach them, and in terms of stealth I thought it was far superior to other games in the genre at the time, largely because getting spotted wasn't a death sentence. Just break line of sight and you're good to go most of the time.

Play DOS Games Online and GDC

Man, that is cool. I only got to play a handful of DOS games. I didn't get a computer until 1994, and DOS seemed like it was on the way out and CD-ROM was in. Something cool about those VGA graphics since my nostalgia comes in the form of NES and SNES sprites.

I am excite! The first game was a true surprise, and I actually ended up getting all the trophies, not because I'm a trophy hound (I prefer achievements), but because I loved the game and couldn't get enough.

Yeah, you're gonna have to expand on that comment for me, friend.

I use Audacity, and I think it's what a lot of podcasters use. But I can't imagine I'd have a hard time learning another one with the hundreds of hours under my belt now.

Thanks! I'm excited to get started. I love editing Nerds Without Pants, and I'd like to think that all the time I've spent with that as at least given me a basic understanding of things.

Anticipation is BaD

Get Out was amazing. It strikes this great balance between Hitchcock and The Twilight Zone while still being fresh since it obviously comes from some of Jordan Peele's experiences. The audience I saw it with was almost entirely white, but that's mainly because Austin is almost entirely white these days.

Horizon definitely has a Tomb Raider vibe, which I dig, and I'm happy to hear that the story is interesting the whole way through. I'm not a Zelda fan, but hearing Dan talk about it on this week's Beastcast got me legit excited for it. But I'm playing Horizon first.

BaD #025 Gaming Achievements and Currently Playing

I loved Enslaved. I'm a big fan of Ninja Theory in general, and I'm looking forward to Hellblade. I keep wondering if it's tied into Heavenly Sword in some way, but I think Sony may own that IP, so maybe not.

The only platinum trophy I have that took real work and wasn't just for finishing the game is Shadow of Mordor. I loved that game so much that I just kept playing until I had everything.

RETROspective: Game Boy Heroes

You've listed some of my favorite Game Boy games here. Gargoyle's Quest is not only one of my favorite Game Boy titles, but one of my favorite unsung series. Link's Awakening is one of my favorite Zelda games.

I played a ton of Game Boy, but for some reason I only own a few games today. I should look into adding to the collection, but for those games I'd want the boxes at the very least, and that gets expensive fast.
