Definitely Amnesia: The Dark Descent. The game oozes atmosphere and freaks you out long before any monsters actually appear.

Yeah I know. It's kind of retarded though. I mean complain about a legitimate problem with the game, sure, but if the game kept you playing for x amount of hours you can't call it a bad game.
Fatal Frame 2 is fucking Terrifying. Seriously though, try Amnesia. That game... Fuck that game.
Damn right you are :)
Maybe where you are. I'm in college, so it's pretty accepted here by everyone. However, that's not the case everywhere. I mean I've heard people talking about how weird I was for playing a ds on the train. They kept talking about me and it made me so uncomfortable that I stopped. My brother has been picked on at school because he likes games that aren't popular.
My point is that just because it's accepted where you are does not make it universally so.
I used this game as a supplimentary text in high school when we were studying crime fiction because I wanted to look at it through different angles. I was playing it in the library and it scared the fuck out of me.
I believe in you! Kick Metroid Fusions ass!
That is a damn good point actually. I know that eventually we'll gain mass acceptance (hell we're already most of the way there), but still.
Yeah I know.
Yeah it can be a hobby, but not everyone who plays games views it as a hobby.
