I keep an eye out for Shin Megami Tensei games as a matter of principle lol. Really enjoying SMT IV right now, which is the first one I've actually given substantial time to.

...you bought a robot? 

I don't see the point in getting a new console Day One anymore. The graphical jump alone used to justify it if nothing else but it's hardly noticeable anymore. My wife is far more excited about the next generation than I am lol. Like you, I have plenty of great games still waiting to be played.

Handhelds, though, that's another story. My 3DS XL has gotten more use this year than anything else. There are great games in all sorts of genres and more on the way. I'd definitely recommend getting one.
