Did somebody say DAMNED?!
None of the games are related except for the 3 Xenosaga games so you're ok.
I didn't really have any cons. I haven't really been keeping up with X so I had no pre-conceived notions. I'm currently trying to sell my liver on-line to buy a Wii-U.
Oh and the biggest pro - No fekkin' Dance Dance Ad Nauseum or any fitness software/hardware. Life is good. :)
I loved the whole thing. It made me smile in a way that I haven't for a long time. Very well done. Extra points for not showing a dance game. :)
Fair enough. I have both copies too. I bought the first game a few years back and when I found two for cheap I bought it and started over. I got to one dungeon that was making me crazy and stopped playing. I need to get through it and finish the game.
It's mostly a single player game. I didn't bother with the on-line (never do) and it's fine all on it's own
I played a lot of this but never finished. I enjoyed it once I got the hang of the battle system. The second game actually includes an updated version of the first so you didn't need to buy it.
I have to admit it wasn't all shooters. There was RPG stuff in MS' presentation but other than a new coat of paint it didn't seem original or different either. I guess Phantom Dust surprised me. That game was fun but needed work and maybe the new one will have added some variety. I liked Ori too but like you it felt somehow familiar. It did tug at the heartstrings though. :)
I agree with you that older gamers with diverse appetites are no longer the target of AAA games. They are geared towards kids who are probably too young to be playing them but have ignorant parents who don't give a shit.
It's funny when Call of Duty is more of a kiddie game than Mario. LOL
That's ok. It's what we do. :D
Now that you've reminded me of TMV I'm going to have to dig out a few of their CDs for my commute tomorrow. Maybe some At The Drive-In too.
