Ode to Chrono Crossing: My game of the year for every year I have played games

Posted on 11/08/2017 at 05:56 PM | Filed Under Blogs

There are a lot of great games on that list and I agree with most of them. The early arcade games you mention I was more of a watch someone else play type. My first machine was a C64 so text adventures like Hitchhikers Guide and games like Archon and BC's Quest for Tires were my earliest home games.

Oh and I'm even older than James so yeah get off my lawn!

It hath been since November

Deadly Premonition. I never finished it but I have several copies. I had fun with what I played. It's creepy and cheesy and I like that.

Primal is an action adventure/platformer. It's the story of a girl (Jen) looking for her rocker boyfriend who has been captured by a demon and taken to Oblivion. She teams up with a gargoyle named Snee er, Scree and the game invoives you using them both to solve puzzles.

The combat isn't great but the story and the dark worlds they travel through are. There are some hilarious moments in the game too.

It was one of the first PS2 games I bought and I also have it digitally on PS3 and PS4.

OMG Mario!

I thought about getting an SNES Classic but realized that other than Star Fox 2 there's nothing there I don't already have access to or would be interested in.

I'm still going through Mario Odyssey somewhat slowly compared to most (91 Moons) but it is the kind of game I love to play. Lots of exploration and discovery. It is also the best looking Mario game I've ever played/

Well it looks like my time with Odyssey is finished

100% And One Week Later: Super Mario Odyssey Review

I did buy it. :) and I love it. I've been waiting to run around large environments discovering new things, some quite by accident since Mario 64. I'm only sorry it took Nintendo this long to follow that game up. Galaxy and Galaxy 2 while good were not the same.

Game I love that everyone hates - Not really sure, Primal maybe but I think that's more Game that I loved that no one else played.

Game(s) I hate that everyone loves (or at least keeps buying)  Call of Doody or any number of first person military shooters

Mario Odyssey Review*Spoilers*

I too love the game. It's all about exploration and discovery for me. My only problems are with the multi-button actions and the parts you can't back out of such as the one yesterday and the Bowser battles.

The multi-button thing is due to my lack of coordination and messed up reflexes. Yes I know a long jump is run then press Zl then A but while I can do those fine in practice sessions but when the pressure is on I run then try to hit Zl and A at the same time resulting in me ground pounding myself of the side of a cliff or into some poison.

The forced "missions" wouldn't be a problem if I remembered to go into Data Management and copy my save to another slot. It's kind of dumbass method of getting to multiple saves but at least it's there.

All in all I'm still enjoying myself but as has been mentioned 999 moons is ridiculous. I thought I was doing well at 75 moons but clearly I haven't even scratched the surface.

Well it looks like my time with Odyssey is finished

Turns out as I suspected it's my inability to execute a long jump. I'd either make the jump and veer off the cliff to the right or not jump at all and ground pound the poison. I had my son do it and he made it over just fine. I knew what to do I just couldn't do it.
