Silent Hill Downpour First Impressions

I actually thought Homecoming was okay. The game went so far as to genuinely impress me at certain moments. The reason for bad scores? Probably because the fans couldn't stand the fact Team Silent was not the developer.

I haven't played Downpour but it seems pretty good from what you described. It's a shame the glitches damper an otherwise interesting survival horror game. (I also get the feeling Screamers would be more scary if they didn't immediately announce themselves verbally. lol.)

DRM SUCKS. F-Zero AX in GX is another reason why

I've read somewhere that a company has to maintain a product for at least ten years but I'm sure EA has hired enough sleazy lawyers to find loopholes around that, Lar. My friend Alex was disappointed because Sim City used to be one of his favorite franchises.

Oh god, price cons are the worst! Every once in awhile I see some guy or gal selling a game on amazon for hundreds of dollars even as amazon itself is selling it for around 20 or 30 something. You gotta be careful these days because there are a lot of frauds out there. Always remember you have options! Compare those prices!

Allusions Rising: Gearing Toward Greatness

Ah, the wonderful weirdness of Metal Gear! It really gives us a lot to think about. The fact Sundowner is a demented bizzaro version of John Lennon couldn't be more terrifying. This guy has the potential to creep me out more than Psycho-Mantis.

There are indeed a lot of parallels here about wars used to make money and even how "consumers" are seen as products themselves.

Honestly though, I'd probably get my most nostalgic "Hellz yeah" moment from that kid's enthusiastic "Go ninja, go ninja,GO!" What can I say? I'm a simple man!

Great article, Patrick. The delicious brain food is appreciated!

Tropes Vs. Men on the Internet

I'm not mad Anita Sarkesian has gone ahead with what she promised. However, it is kind of shifty she's disabled comments. On one hand she will not have to deal with genuinely nasty trolls but on the other hand she will not get any positive feedback and helpful criticism either.

I'm just gonna let the misogynist man babies and pseudo white knights fight to the death! Hey, at least they will not breed! (If only idiots really died from internet fights. That would be glorious!)

If it keeps going like this they'll be another videogame crash akin to what happened during the Atari era.
