There's zero justification for me to ever get an Xone now. None whatsoever.

MS can only bring me on board by doing a complete about face immediately along side a big price cut, and I know that's not gonna happen.

That's going to be one of the most famous moments in E3 history I think.

Sony just kicked MS out the fucking window on that conference. 

Clearly MS didn't get the memo on affordability. Did you see the press conference? Ugh.

Price wise, it's the worst aspects of the PS3 and 360 combined. You'll not only be paying out the ass for the box itself like the PS3, but you also have to pay for Xbox Live to get the most out of the box. Sony and MS only did one or the other to balance things out--free PSN on one hand, lower price points for the 360.

Combined with all the DRM bullshit, I can't imagine how much more unappealing MS could make this system look at this point.

$500 for a box that has PC-style restrictions on content distribution? Seriously?

I mean, yeah, the games looked visually impressive, but most of it didn't look any different from what we're seeing now. Titanfall, Killer Instinct and Dead Rising 3 looked cool, yeah...but no fucking way am I paying that for those. That's how much I payed for my fat PS3 back in '07, and it was luck that I had that money on hand.

To MS's credit, though, the single-minded focus on game content is how I wish EVERY E3 conference was. None of this "20 minutes on Kinect/Wonderbook" bullshit.

I didn't click on it at first because I thought from the thumbnail that it was some stupid live-action nonsense. Then I saw the comments...holy fuck.

All Microsoft has to do is let people remove Kinect from the box when they aren't using it. That's it. People wouldn't mind having to get up and press the power button instead as an alternative. That they keep telling people not to worry but won't let you run the Xone without Kinect attached makes their reassurances hollow IMO.

I just can't believe how far MS has it's head up it's ass on this. It's the only explanation as to how they could be so deaf and blind.
