I just realized that I forgot to mention X-Men Days of Future Past.  Although I wouldn't put it in a "best of" list, I really enjoyed it.  I've loved the X-Men comics since early childhood, but have never really been satisfied with any of their movies until I saw this one.

I also saw the new Hunger Games movie this year (along with the first two) and found it suprisingly good.  I had initially dismissed them, but it turns out they tell a pretty good story.

I thought this was a great year for films.  Personally, I loved Boyhood, although it's obviously not a film for everyone. I also loved the Grand Budapest Hotel.  Some of my other favorites from the year are St. Vincent, Gone Girl, The Lego Movie, Tusk, Foxcatcher, and Guardians of the Galaxy.  I'm sure there are some others that I am forgetting.

I still need to watch Birdman, Inherent Vice, The Theory of Everything, and Under the Skin.

I’ve got a pretty boring name and a boring story.  Mine is from around the time when my family first got internet and practically everyone had a string of numbers at the end of their name.  I was creating a name for the first site that I ever joined (I think it was a King’s Quest fan site) and used “bullet” since it was my childhood dog’s name.  The “656” came from attempting a bunch of different number combos (1, 2, 420, 666, etc).  Finally I just put 656 and it accepted it, and I’ve been using it ever since.  I kind of feel foolish having a string of numbers still attached to my name, but it makes remembering my user-name for various sites easier.

No judgment about the weed smoking.  I’m 34 and only recently “quit” about 6 months ago.  I use quotations because my long-time connection dried up and I have no idea where to get it from now.  Most of my friends quit smoking long ago, and I wouldn't really feel very comfortable going around my office and asking my co-workers if they had any connections.

I really liked that movie too.  I wish I bought it back when I had the chance.  It's been out of print for a long time and the DVD is typically going for around $75 here in the United States.

The last movie I watched was Chasing Amy, which I've probably seen a dozen times.  We watched it Valentine's night, which I guess is kind of odd considering it isn't the happiest of love stories.  Anyways, I love that movie.  It's got a great mix of comedy and heart.

The last new movie I saw was Tusk (also by Kevin Smith and probably the reason I had Chasing Amy on the mind).  Holy crap that's a fucked-up movie. It's pretty disturbing, but silly at the same time.  I wasn't sure what to think about it after first watching it, but the more I think about it the more I like it.

I'm going to get this game sooner or later.

 I love the original Alien movie, and from everything I've read this game is heavily inspired by it.  The second film was a straight up action movie, and while I think it is okay, I much prefer the slower, creepier, and more horror focused original.

I'm having a great time with it, but it's probably not for everyone.  I'd describe it as a mix between the Phoenix Wright games and the 999/Virtue's Last Reward games with a little Persona thrown in, but with it's own unique spin on things.  It's story-heavy, with murder mysteries and courtroom trials.

Holy crap! I hadn't heard about that yet.  Great news.

I love Psychonauts, but I often found the platforming frustrating.  I also really enjoyed Costume Quest, although if it wasn't for the wonderfully nostalgic feeling that it gave my Halloween-loving self I would have quickly grown tired of the extemely simple combat.  I liked The Cave alot too, but did find it annoything that you had to play a 3rd time just to get the story of the final character.    

Although I haven't played it in 15 years, I would have to say Grim Fandango is my favorite Double Fine game.  I've already bought the re-release and will hopefully play it soon.  Now I just hope that they decide to re-release what would easily become my favorite Double Fine game, Day of the Tentacle.  I don't think I was ever more excited for a game in my life than I was for that game after it was featured in the LucasArts newsletter/magazine.  It didn't dissapoint.

I’ve spent most of my current gaming time with Danganronpa on the Vita.  I guess I’m also currently playing Persona Q, although I’ve put it aside for the past couple weeks.  Not sure what to start next on my consoles  I tried playing both Protoype 2 and Thief on the PS3 the other day since they became free on PSN, but I wasn't digging either one and don’t think I’m going to put any more time into them.

I really enjoyed The Evil Within also.  I played through it on the PS4 a month or so ago.  I had a lot of fun with it and think it deserves more praise than it got.
