We had the same situation here in Toronto on the weekend before Christmas week. Trees/branches just couldn't hold the added weight. I had no power for 2 days, and some people were out of power for 4 days.
We got a lot of snow today too. It wasn't so bad in the morning, so I still went to work. When I came back I was walking through almost a foot of snow. I love my snow boots.
