Super Bowl 50 Ads: Cary's Best That Ever Was

Yeah a lot of fast food places are regional.  I don't think Alabama has Jack in the Box or Whataburger, but we don't have Hardees and Jack's Hamburgers like they do.

Yeah I think that's the purple lady because I saw a pic of her on your blog and it looks like the same one from Marvel vs. Capcom 2 sorta.

Hey that's the purple lady I was talking about!

I'll go see a lot of those movies on your list, but I may not see all the ones I want in a theater because I don't have a job right now and am trying to save money.  Another one that is not on your list that I'd like to see is The Secret Life of Pets.

Mario Spin-off Games #6--Super Mario Kart

Super Mario Kart on SNES is one of my top five favorite games of all time.  I played it a ton in high school, and then we got it out again in college and had just as much fun with it.  When I first saw it in Nintendo Power, I knew it was going to be a big hit.

Did you see the "Gravity Paws" ad on YouTube?  I only ask because it really wasn't part of the Super Bowl.  And if you don't watch Gravity Falls (you should), you wouldn't get it anyway.

I never have seen any of the Hungry Games movies, so I guess I wouldn't get that joke.

I didn't see the X-Men movie preview.  Who is Psylocke?  Is that the purple lady who shoots pink bubblegum things in Marvel vs. Capcom 2?  She was kind of neat in that game.

I didn't think Jack in the Box was national.  I know when I visit family in Alabama, I don't see Jack in the Box commercials on TV and I don't see any of their restaurants there.

Well I'm glad your team won, then!

BaD day 7: remembering street fighter 2.

Posted on 02/08/2016 at 07:22 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I remember the Street Fighter arcade cabinets that had the one big punch button.  Of course, at the time I didn't realize the significance of them, and it would be years later that I would realize that was the original Street Fighter that I saw.

When I first saw Street Fighter 2, the first thing I thought was, "Holy cow!  This game has six buttons and I only have five fingers!  How am I supposed to play this?"  I was never very good at the game, but I did go with my friends to arcades and gas stations and grocery stores to play it.  Remember when those places had arcade machines?  Usualy I would just watch, as I'd rather spend my quarters on games I liked, such as the old Pac-Man machines at the back of the arcade that were now gathering dust.

I did like the characters, though.  One of my best friends was REALLY good at Street Fighter 2, and I could never beat him.  But when Super Street Fighter 2 came out, I decided I'd pick one of the new characters, Cammy, and I actually beat him!  Now, it was probably because he was dealing with a new character that he wasn't familiar with, but let me have my victory, OK?  Because of that, I decided that Cammy was my favorite character.

I'm kind of on the fence about FF Explorers right now.
