PS4 Drops to $350 Tomorrow

Posted on 10/08/2015 at 02:28 PM | Filed Under Blogs

If it weren't for all the PS+ deals I'd be a bit upset (wasn't happy I missed the Amazon deal for the same price with more games before buying my $400 GameStop PS4 w/Last of Us Remastered as it is), but $50 is ... the price of a PS+ subscription ... so aside from Rocket League being one of my most-played games among other goodies, yeah maybe I shoulda waited. lol

Have you beat RE4 before? I never played an RE until I bought the HD remake on Steam for sale and got stuck somewhat early on. The sound in my headphones in that game was so spot on creepy I want to go back to it though.

Haven't seen Bubba Ho Tep. Shaun of the Dead is still the weakest of the Cornetto trilogy for me, with Hot Fuzz being the strongest and At World's End being some mix of close and distant second if that makes sense (it doesn't, I know). I think most folks are the opposite of me there, but screw most folks. :p

But yeah, you guys are not the only people telling me to watch Tucker and Dale so definitely this month if not tonight or tomorrow assuming it's still on Netflix.

Yeah, trust me I know how it can feel to be the "self-promoter" and how people might look at that/how you might look at yourself because of how you saw other self-promoters. But it is absolutely a necessity if you want to get your stuff out there. It's nothing to be ashamed of, even if you end up annoying a few people to get to the ones who want to access your stuff.

And since you're writing for someone else, I'm sure they would appreciate you spreading the word on their behalf if you want to think of it that way.

I recognized Adam Scott because of Parks and Rec ("Is there a non-gay way to ask him to go hunting with me?").

Can't say I'd recognize Toni Collette.

Had to look up David Koechner, but immediately recognized his picture on BOOM! WHAMMY! SLAM DINGER! Google.

I liked 2+1/2 Men unironically when Charlie Sheen was on it and I don't care how "uncultured" that makes me. But Conchata Ferrell played definitely my favorite character and probably the only one on that show I saw as a "real" person, whatever my brain thinks that means.

As for the movie, I'm always a bigger fan of horror-comedy than I am of straight up horror. I just don't get scared the way I used to. The Babadook made me uncomfortable in a way most movies don't, but I'd say that was more depression than fear. But An American Werewolf in London is one of my favorite movies of all time.

If Krampus gets good reviews, I'll be on board. I still need to watch Tucker and Dale Vs. Evil. Hopefully, still on Netflix. Gonna need to fire up some horror movies/games (I only own Resident Evil 4) since it's the season.

Hey, BulletHeaven! Whatever happened to Seraxxor anyway? He used to be pretty regular on here.

And yeah, we don't always pay attention to the roots of things, but I'm the kinda guy who is well aware of the history behind something, but can still celebrate what it's become. I'm failry apathetic about stuff like that, though I do love delving into history when I can.

As for the game in question in this blog, it looks like Guilty Gear-style whackiness and action applied to shmups. Aside from how much I suck at shmups and feel they're actively trying to make themselves inaccessible at times, I do appreciate the genre since I grew up with SolarStriker on Game Boy.

Google Play is actually what I thought about. In fact, I was more annoyed by having to sign up for a Google Wallet account that was associated with my card than you are by this ... except clearly not, cause I reluctantly went along with it for the freebies.

I used to keep movie stubs as well. In fact, I still try but inevitably they get lost in the washing machine/dryer ...

Maw Mayhem: Rising Z

Posted on 10/06/2015 at 11:15 PM | Filed Under Blogs

You've got me intrigued by The Maw. Next I log into Steam, I'll put it on my Wishlist and dl the demo. Not worth doing right now on the wi-fi in this Lawson, OK hotel I'm in for work.

You ever play Mayhem 3D on an actual 3D TV?

DR games could be so much more fun without time limits. Time limits are such a lazy way to "enhance tension."

I love over-the-top whack as well and nothing wrong with starting easy to get better. I put Guilty Gear Xrd on Beginner and Easy to get used to all the characters and have worked my way up to beating Arcade on Maniac with about four characters so far (with a lot of retries in certain matchups, granted). Same concept applies to learning an instrument or the machines we have at work. You start slow and easy to get fast and hard. If only my lovers would understand ...
