What is American Ultra about anyway?

I consider stuff like that an illegitimate challenge. Just tell me what I'm supposed to do. I'm not saying I want that philosophy applied to puzzles or that I never want to be surprised, but if there's like one or two trophies left and nothing else I'm really trying to accomplish in the game, I'm not waiting for the game to have purpose for me again.
I honestly want to play old games with new controllers. But I didn't think about the tube TV thing. Was considering like a Retron 5. Wonder if those have HD hookups.
I always look up the vague stuff.
I hate achievements where you're right on the cusp of completion.
Yeah, I almost always opt for controller instead of WASD, since I've always been mainly a console guy. When I've emulated through a webiste or other source, it tends to use arrow keys as movement and the WASD keys like face keys on a controller. Just a different perspective. Controls fine as it is, really.
Music sounds great. Relaxing. What do you use to record and edit? What's synthetic and what instruments are you playing?
I've seen a few videos where people complete the game for the challenge of it. I think if it weren't for the music or the fact some people back then would have had to make do with just this game for a while, maybe no one would have bothered. But the ones who did seem to enjoy it on some level. Definitely sounds like a niche thing though.
I tend to play using arrow keys, but if you're going to do letter keys maybe a and s would be better.
Otherwise, only trouble I had was sometimes not being sure when to double jump. I actually had fun completing the levels though and it's really interesting to think of how I can perform the same tasks in something so graphically simple I can in a more graphically developed game. Hell, it's actually got a cool indie feel to it.
Music took me to an "oh no!" page.
Hard to say. I was at least aware of radio before '97, but the landmark of buying those CDs definitely stuck with me. I don't remember what movie I first saw at home or in theaters, what book I first read, if Super Mario Bros. was the first game I played that was already in the house when I got there, what TV show I first watched (though I guess the first one I became a big fan of was Power Rangers, debuting in '93), or what website I first logged onto (definitely remember the dial-up tone though), but buying Hanson's Mmbop (or maybe Middle of Nowhere?) and Garbage's Version 2.0 CDs is definitely something I remember.
