I love El Shaddai, can't wait to hear this podcast so I can better understand all the religious angles. Even if you don't have any interest in that sort of thing, the amazing varying art style of each level is something everything should experience.
hahaha I do the gamefaqs poll every day. Squirtle gets a vote.
great podcast. I suffered from adult gamer guilt for quite some time. I never brought it up at work or posted stuff on Facebook or whatever. I've recently decided to step out more and I bring it up to people at work I'm comfortable with and even linked some stuff I've written on PB to other social media. Its MUCH more sociall acceptable now but there are still people that don't get it and will immediately judge you negatively at the mere mention of it. I sometimes say I'm more a collector than a player, they get that some games are rare and are worth money. I hate tossing the word "picker" around but they seem to respond to it better. I envy people like Patrick Scott Patterson that have made a name for themselves being a "gaming personality".
Hey guys, just read through all your comments. We hoped to record the followup tonight but looks like we may need to hold off a couple days. You guys have some great opinions and I hope to address some in the pc.
Like Nick said, I just ask them for the original packaging and they are usually happy to hook u up, I've even gone into a different GameStop and told them when I bought the game they told me I could have the original case and manual when they get it, I have some generic cases for games I bought in my car and if I see the original case in a store i just ask to swap, don't even have to do an exchange in the register.
Make that 29 days to go, yeah, $900,000 in one day. Man I love Kickstarter
I LOVED Limbo. I got through it fairly quickly, I intended to replay but got stuck, not sure why I didn't get stuck the first time but did the second.
I think companies need to make some of these elusive and expensive games available for people to play. We FINALLY got Earthbound. More companies need to follow suit. Sega started this with NiGHTS: Into Dreams and Guardian Heroes. They should do the same with Burning Rangers. I want to play this so bad on the original hardware. I can't afford the going prices on Ebay. Its SOOOO tempting to get a burned copy just to play it.
in defense of GI,
I still read it and I enjoy getting the magazine in the mail. Call me oldschool. I also get EGM but they come in so seldom its frustrating.
One thing I have to say about GI, is considering its just supposd to be an over glorified GameStop flyer, they have quite a bit of enthusiest content that comes from the heart. They often have some kind of retro feature I really enjoy. Like a two page spread on Pifall or classic consoles. They don't HAVE to do this, it does nothing to make GameStop money, they do it for the love, and I can appreciate that.
As for the reviews, yeah, they ARE afterall an over glorified GameStop flyer. The high scores and immediate praise is apparant, but sometimes you can read between the lines and get the feel for how they REALLY feel about the game.
