Cary's Top Ten Favorite Saturday Morning Cartoons!

I remember some claymation bumpers on ABC and one had a dog and a singing fire hydrant and they'd go, "After these messages...we'll be riiiight back!"

So many superheroes I know nothing about.

I don't really get into comic books, so most super hero movies I see, I have no idea who the characters are.  Most of my comic knowledge comes from Marvel vs. Capcom games!   I wish someone would make a Sam & Max movie, then I would know the characters in that comic book film!

Yeah the 5200 had the awful controllers.  But darn it, River Raid was so much better on the 5200 than the 2600.

Kids love Scooby Doo.  It's still popular!

I liked Batman and Animaniacs a lot, too, but that was more of a weekday thing for me.

Inspector Gadget was a pretty big deal back then.  It was super popular in Europe I hear.  But that was a cartoon I remember watching more on weekdays than Saturdays.

I watched a lot of TMNT, too, but it didn't make my list.  I mostly just watched it because I knew one of the animators who worked on it and I liked to see his name in the credits. That show made me hungry for pizza for some reason.

I did watch The Smurfs, but I didn't really like it that much.  i only watched it because it came on right before the Pac-Man cartoon.  It sure was on for a long time!  Jokey was cool.

I also watched a lot of Alvin and the Chipmunks.  While it didn't make my favorites list, it was certainly one of the higher quality cartoons back then.

I also remember Galaxy High.  Didn't make my list, but it certainly was memorable.  Reminded me of The Jetsons.

Looney Tunes is always a good fit for Saturday mornings.  I'm glad ABC had it on as long as they did.

Speaking of ABC, I did watch a lot of School House Rock and Time for Timer on that station.

Saturday morning bumpers were pretty original, too.  I remember many, including the Fido Dido ones.  Didn't they make a 16-bit Fido Dido game, too?

That episode of Futurama was hilarious.  I laughed constantly through that one.  I had to explain to my brother Jeff some of the jokes, though.

Nothing scary from me, just from my friend.

Nintendo does a great job of making games that appeal to me.  Sony and Microsoft just aren't there yet this generation.  I didn't beat Majora's Mask back in the day, but I got pretty far.  A game called Banjo-Tooie came out and distracted me. :)

I really prefer Joust over Balloon Fight.  They made a reworked version of Balloon Kid starring Tingle, I'd like to play that one.  I wish the 5200 got more love.  Everyone gushes about the 2600 but there was some neat stuff on the 5200, too.

It was about what I expected. These games are coming up fast!  I'll have Captain Toad and Kirby and the Rainbow Curse in no time!
