I've been doing most of my shopping online. I got ALien Isolation for my brother for xmas for $30. I wouldn't have bought it at full price, but that's a damn good deal, I think.

yeah I had a lot of problems with it. I guess after awhile I couldn't handle restarting it over and over. It was hard because there were a lot of things i really liked about it, and I did have fun with it. But it was just becoming such a time sink and I wasn't progressing in the game, and finally I just couldn't handle it anymore.
I didn't hear about the patch. I'll look that up. I thought I was prepared for the game but I guess I wasn't.
I really respect that you enjoy it so much though, makes me rethink my opinion on it.
it's a masochist's paradise -- and completely unbalanced. I'm talking playing each mission ten times and still losing because of insta-fail mechanics. I sunk hour after hour into this game, hoping it was just me, but eventually I realized it's the game that no one bothered to play test. I'm just curious to see if he beat the game, because I thought it was cool in the beginning as well.
I don't know, Rodney, I played this game for review (my review isn't finished yet), and I found the game pretty bad. Have you finished the game yet? I couldn't get past the missions eventually, as it was too unbalanced.

I think those first Genesis games were pretty good platformers. Sure there were a lot back then, but they weren't bad. I liked Sonic 2 and Sonic and KNuckles better.
And you're right, the Adventure games weren't bad, in fact, I enjoyed them. But they never reached the heights of Nintendo games.
this game blew my mind when it came out on PSONE all those years ago. I remember we got it as a birthday present for my brother. IT was such a change from the NES and Genesis years!
I don't think fans of Sonic mind him being in different types of games, I think it's the quality of the games that aggravate them. Personally, I think it all went downhill once Sonic started speaking. Kind of like a talkie with Charlie Chaplin -- just weird.
