Pac-Man Championship Edition DX FTW! Have it on the PS3. It's awesomeness in a can.
I never got into table top D & D...I came along at little too late. By the time I was 6, the video games were front and center. But I do understand the allure behind why so many got into D&D though. I also agree with you that the whole "adveture for the sake of treasure" is kinda old now. and yes...war games do take themselves way too seriously these days.
Pffft, yeah! I they've been doing that ever since they started "bundling" stuff like Mario Kart 7 with the 3DS XL. I was kinda bummed when I got that bundle. I like physical media and instruction manuals. Plus, I didn't like the idea of having some of that strogae capacity used up already with a whole game. But hey, in the long run, I got over it and just enjoyed my 3DS. At least you got a Zelda game with yours (not that there's anything wrong with Mario Kart).
Thanks man. I've always wanted to be part of a writing staff for a website. Just because I love writing about the old games we used to play.
Wow, sounds like you're going to be pretty busy with that PS4 for a while. Enjoy it my friend.
If it makes you feel any better-- I have NEVER bother with getting 100% completion on any game...ever. The earliest I can remember is Donkey Kong Country and Super Metroid. I can especially recall beating Super Metroid and being like "What?? I only collected 70% of the total items?? But I spent WEEKS playing this game!" With all games since then, I might get close to a full "completion", but never 100%. Nowadays, if I see collecting percentages anywhere in a game, my brain automatically turns off. Just don't have the time.
That being said, I've been wanting to play another LEGO game (the last one I played was the original Lego Star Wars), but it's on the back burner kind of thing. I've been hearing that Lego Marvel Superheroes is pretty fun. And I loooove the Marvel Universe.
To me, the only thing that held this game back somewhat was the cryptic clues givine as direction to where to go next. If Nintendo could have ironed that out a little more, it would have been perfect. But it's easy for me to say that now. Hindsight is 20/20, right?
No doubt about it, the first Zelda game isn't quite as robust as A link to the Past. Nintnedo really topped themselves on the Super NES. However, I would still say that LOZ has still aged rather gracefully and is still very playable despite its age. That can't always be said for other classics from the same time period.
Yeah, this game is pretty high up there on my "best of" list as well. But yeah, A link to the Past did kick things up a few notches though. Zelda is one of those seires that (at least for a time) kept getting beter between the SNES and N64 era.
