Hitman Absolution Review - 47 goes to Hollywood

I think the idea of someone from the same department realizing you're not who you're pretending to be is a cool idea, but it was implemented poorly. Like you said, it's way too easy for people to figure you out from across the room.

Maybe in the next game you can do a bluff. Show some credentials or have a little dialog tree that 47 can use to get out of a sticky situation.

Your voice is delightful. I may actually play this one, because it's more of a Castlevania game than a true Roguelike, which is right up my alley.

Awesome! Race and gender changes across the board!

I approve of this.

So this is more of a Marvel reboot as opposed to a real reboot, ala DC.

I doubt even a place as big as IGN has time for its reviewers to play through a game on multiple difficulty settings. They tend to have to play games like this in two or three days, and that doesn't leave much time for experimentation.

Besides, if the game is balanced for a higher difficulty (as so many people are insinuating with The Last of Us) then I believe that to be a failing on the part of the development team, not the person who reviews the game on the standard settings. And I will always review a game on standard settings, as that's the baseline.

I don't mind admitting that I had a rough time going through the game since I went for a no kill playthrough. The game is fantastic, but once Faith loses her momentum things grind to a halt. I haven't played the game since the first couple weeks of release, but I remember some points where not being able to fire back really made things tough.

That said, I think the control scheme was perfect. All I want to see for a sequel is the ability to take down guys without slowing down. Imagine running towards a guy, jumping with a double knee, and then landing into a roll and a sprint.

But even if they change the game, this is a day one purchase for me. Same thing if they ever do Beyond Good & Evil 2 or Prince of Persia (2008) 2.

Oh yeah. For the record, when I saw people complaining about the XBO policy shift I had to laugh out loud. My tweet was "you people are never happy, are you?" because it was so absurd to me.

As a collector, I'm also nervous about the console not being supported in the future when it's a digital library. The funny thing is that Nintendo already doesn't do this, and no one gets mad at them. If you have games on your Wii and it breaks or gets stolen, eff you. Nintendo's not going to help, because those games are tied to the console and not to an account. As such, I own no digital games on my Wii, even though I would have liked to.

I think they fixed this with the Wii U, but they do things in such a bass ackwards way that I'm not so sure...
