Dragon Age 2: PS3 vs. Xbox 360

Posted on 06/20/2014 at 11:58 AM | Filed Under Blogs

I didn't know that. What are the benefits for importing from DAO? I've only put in about 7 hours into the game so I don't think that would benefit me that much. Unless I get some type of powerful weapon or armor that would last me for a while. When I played the demo, I saw the textures in the cinematic parts ran smoother on 360 but choppy on PS3. Gameplay on the other hand ran a lot smoother for PS3 than 360. This could be different with the actual retail copy so I guess my best bet is to buy it for both consoles and compare it that way. Sounds dumb, I know, but at least if I buy a pre owned copy I can always return it.

A lot of people didn't enjoy DA2, but from the demo I think I'll be part of the few who enjoyed the game. I can see how DAO is one of your favorite games. I'm still enjoying it. It just took me a while to decide what class to pick. I wanted to be each one of them. They should make some sort of hybrid class in Inquisition. But I can see how that would upset some people.

That's good to hear. I was thinking the whole game was going to be displayed like that. I'm barely at the third training quest I believe. I've read the beginning of the game is the most difficult so I've been grinding everywhere and fighting every single demon I can find just to be prepared for what's to come.

Is it just the first town that is navigated through the menu or is it like that throughout the whole game? I played a little bit of Devil Summoner and I know that game has navigation through the menu.

I'm fairly new to the series so I wouldn't have any clue as to how the SMT games are. I'm surprised that my local GameStop stores only have CE as their new copies of the game. Seeing how the game is rated so high, I would've thought the CE's would be sold out in a heartbeat. I checked if the CE at the store I was at still had everything in it (sometimes the soundtrack or art book would be missing) and everything was there. Sucks that the box was a bit beat up but a small price to pay for a CE. I'm playing the pre owned one I got and I'm not sure whether I would say I like it yet. Maybe I have to give it some more time.

I actually like games that take a while to complete because I feel like you're really getting your money's worth rather than buying a $60 game that will last you 6-7 hours. Lengthy games like Borderlands 1&2, Mass Effect series, Persona series etc are really good lengthy games. Some games like the Uncharted and GoW series are well worth the price even if the games only take a few hours to beat.

I think i'll give SMT IV a shot. It's $20 for a high praised game that people say RPG and JRPG gamers would love. What really got me is the fact that my local GameStop still has the CE. Thanks for your input!

It sounds interesting but difficult because I've never played an RPG that's like SMT. Only RPG games I play are like Final Fantasy, Mass Effect, Persona etc. Do you think this game is good for beginners in the series? Also how long is the story? Including some grinding. I feel like I should give this game a try because a lot of people give it high praise. But I also know that's not one of the reasons why I should buy it.

I see your point. I got bored in the first LBP, but I'm actually enjoying the Vita version right now. Tearaway is a fantastic game. The only downside is the fact that it's so short.

I've read that it's a short game. Takes around 4-5 hours to complete but a few more if you would collect everything and platinum the game. I bought it on release week but I got bored of it after a few hours. Now that it's at a reasonable price, I think I'll have another go at it. I ended up buying both but pre owned copies to see if I'll actually keep them.

I know what you mean. I got bored of the previous LBP games on the PS3 because it felt like they started out slow. Tearaway has a neat concept with the gameplay. I'm surprised that it was one of the games that I enjoyed using the Vita functions. I just found out that the LBP community have been building different levels and have created 8,000,000 levels! So that's one big reason why it caught my attention.
