As 2016 is here, our staff looks back to our favorite games of 2015. WAY back!
Video Game Remasters are a joyous thing. They have the power to bring the joys of the past to a modern audience in ways that are simply unmatched in any medium. Have you ever read Pride and Prejudice in 1080p and with 60fps? No? Didn't think so.
But Dark Souls 2 Scholar of the First Sin goes further than mere graphical upgrades! They change where the enemies are! There's a dragon in the third level now! Imagine Frodo had to fight a dragon in the third chapter of Lord of the Rings? It's be an exponentially superior experience!
The Remaster of Dark Souls 2 is honestly the best piece of media I've personally consumed. It's better than the Bible, and that book killed the main character half way through before Game of Thrones made it cool.

Well there is certainly a variety of tastes on this list. I certainly loved Scholar of the First Sin, and I'm playing Grim Fandango for the first time on PS+, and I'm experiencing it for the first time, and it is a rather lovely, funny game. I think I can learn to love it.
I loved Gat Out of Hell. I played it on Xbox 360 with online co-op, and I think it crashed maybe once. Otherwise it seemed to run fine. I'm worried about Saints Row IV now though. Maybe I'll get the PS4 version when I get to it.
I played some Grim Fandango on my Vita. I missed a clue on the computer in the main characters's boss's office because I couldn't see the screen clearly enough. I want to play it again on PS4 so I can see everything.
I got Uncharted Collection. I think I'll play Uncharted 3 there. Also Rare Replay which I haven't touched yet.
