PixlBit's 2015 Game of the Year Awards!

As 2016 is here, our staff looks back to our favorite games of 2015. WAY back!

Number 2

Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection

By Jesse Miller

The Uncharted series holds a place dear in my heart, as it was the first game I loaded into my PlayStation 3 all those years ago. How fitting then, that it would also be the first series to get play on my PlayStation 4 all these years later.

Arriving in time as a primer for the upcoming Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, the Nathan Drake Collection represents the best case scenario for a reissue. While Among Thieves and Drake’s Deception are still great looking games on their original platform – looking as good as some modern fare on the current generation – there’s no doubt that the remaster has done all three titles good, especially the original which is certainly dated at this point.

I’ve greatly enjoyed my trip down memory lane, flying through Drake’s Fortune, and jumping straight into Among Thieves – a jarring experience as the jump in quality is significant. Even though Drake’s Deception ends up being a bit of a letdown after the seminal second game in the series you’d be hard pressed to not want to complete the trilogy. This collection is the best way to rediscover Drake’s adventures or to embark on them for the first time.

That's totally different than my list, which you can check out here.

I'm thinking this article would've been better served by a trollface as its image instead.

because all of these are remasters, or collections?

What about original games that came out this year? Can we get that article?

What do you mean? The only good games come out in the past. We need to celebrate rereleases as much as we need to celebrate "new" Nintendo games.

Well there is certainly a variety of tastes on this list. I certainly loved Scholar of the First Sin, and I'm playing Grim Fandango for the first time on PS+, and I'm experiencing it for the first time, and it is a rather lovely, funny game. I think I can learn to love it.

I didn't know this was going to be the "Game of the Year" article.

I loved Gat Out of Hell. I played it on Xbox 360 with online co-op, and I think it crashed maybe once. Otherwise it seemed to run fine. I'm worried about Saints Row IV now though. Maybe I'll get the PS4 version when I get to it.

I played some Grim Fandango on my Vita. I missed a clue on the computer in the main characters's boss's office because I couldn't see the screen clearly enough. I want to play it again on PS4 so I can see everything.

I got Uncharted Collection. I think I'll play Uncharted 3 there. Also Rare Replay which I haven't touched yet.

This ... is actually a great list for someone like me who's played none of these but is interested in all of them.
