Starbreeze Working On Free-To-Play Title

Entitled Cold Mercury, little is known about this new title.

Starbreeze Studios, the developers behind the first Darkness game, Chronicles of Riddick and the recent Syndicate reboot, is going out of their comfort zone and developing a new free-to-play title called Cold Mercury. No details have been revealed yet but CEO Mikael Nermark reassures fans that the studio will still make triple A titles.

Sony Pulls Two PSP Games To Prevent Vita Hacking

An exploit allows access to the Vita's PSP emulation for homebrew apps.

It is being reported that Sony has taken down two PSP titles, Hot Shots Tennis and MotorStorm Arctic Rift, from the PlayStation Network. This is due to concerns that they can be used to hack the new PlayStation Vita. The two titles are now no longer available to download from any device, including the PlayStation 3, PSP and the aforementioned PlayStation Vita.

Xillia Patents Spotted in Europe, US

US fans of the Tales series may have even more to celebrate.

Namco’s Tales games have been coming out for quite some time now, but Europe and North America are just now starting to get some real love from the beloved RPG franchise.  The publisher recently brought to us localizations of Tales of the Abyss 3D and Tales of Graces f, but it seems that there may be more in store for us as patents in both Europe and the U.S. have been spotted for Tales of Xillia.

Mistborn Video Game Coming Next Year

Sanderson penning the story for this prequel to the best-selling fantasy series.

There are those among you that may have no clue who Brandon Sanderson is and those of you that know him quite well.  For those of you that don’t, Sanderson is the author who has been chosen to complete Robert Jordan’s epic Wheel of Time series – a task that will be no small feat to accomplish without incurring the wrath of a particular rabid fanbase.  But Sanderson is hardly an amateur, having penned the New York Times best-selling series Mistborn.

Arc System Works Announces Xblaze

The new adventure title is planned to be the first in a series.

Developer Arc System Works is best known for their fighting games, specifically the Guilty Gear and BlazBlue series; however, they will be trying something different with their latest body of work. The company has announced that they've started production on an adventure title, Xblaze, which will be the first in an "adventure project" series.

Binary Domain Review

I never expected to find so much innovation in this deceivingly deep shooter.

This squad-based action title will immediately remind you of Gears of War, but it does a terrific job differentiating itself through its story, memorable characters, and innovative gameplay mechanics.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D Review

Snake Eater has a hard time seeing the forest for the trees.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D is the kind of game that appeals to a very specific audience; an audience that already has unconditional love for the source material, which allows them to overlook the obvious shortcomings of this handheld iteration.  Though there is evidence that suggests that the developers treated this game as more than a simple port, their efforts will likely go unnoticed by those not previously indoctrinated.

Silent Hill: Book of Memories Delayed Again

The conclusion of Silent Hill month is going to be late.

Konami has confirmed that Silent Hill: Book of Memories has been pushed back again. The PlayStation Vita game was supposed to be released this Tuesday, but the publisher is now saying, "Stay tuned for a more formal announcement."
