Scene It? Movie Night Review

While fun with friends, this addition to the Scene It? franchise lacks the substance to make a lasting impression.

Scene It? has been around for a while now and there have been more than a few video game adaptations of the popular DVD/film based trivia game.  Now the game based on the premise of useless cinematic know-how has wound up on the PSN and XBLA as a downloadable game. The move to a digital format makes perfect sense for this type of game, but this stripped down version fails to capture the more fleshed out experience we've come to expect from the franchise.

Bad news for those looking to share.

There's been a wave of not so good news concerning the Vita these past few weeks.  With the announcement of expensive memory sticks and a UMD Passport launch lineup that is somewhat lacking the Vita is in a position where it could use some good news.  Now isn't that time though, as we have no found that the Vita will severly limit your PSN account flexibility.

O Snaking, How I Mourn the Loss

Why Mario Kart 7 has me down.

Well, it's official, snaking is officially gone from the Mario Kart series. After Mario Kart Wii, it was up in the air if future iterations would provide players with such ability, but it appears Mario Kart 7 solidifies the permanent omission. As an advocate of snaking, this is a sad day.

Imagine a world where schools are secretly facilities to train kids to become fighter pilots. There is an underground spy at the school masquerading as a science professor. The fate of the world is at hand! Does any of this matter? Oh no it doesn't. Skimpy clothes on teenage anime girls, bullets, bullets, and more bullets, along with several boss fights define Otomedius Excellent.

Notch is no Longer in Charge of Minecraft

The creator of the hottest indie game around names a new lead developer.

It’s been a big year for indie PC darling Minecraft and Mojang, the developer. The game is getting a console port to the 360 with Kinect support. Mojang won an interim injunction against Zenimax over the name of their next project, Scrolls. Oh, and Minecraft actually came out recently. Yes, for Markus “Notch” Persson, things are going well. With Minecraft already a multimillion seller, it’s only natural that Notch would step aside and put someone else in charge of the runaway hit that already has its own convention. Wait, what?

Sonic Generations Review

Sorry Star Trek fans, Sonic Generations does not feature Kirk or Picard.

Sonic Generations starts great. When I started playing the game, three acts in, I was on the phone with Nick. “Hey, this game might be better than the console version,” I said. “I'm not surprised,” his response. All the while, I thought to myself, these stages really capture the feel of the original Genesis Sonic games.

Xenoblade Chronicles is Crossing the Pond

Operation Rainfall can now be considered 1/3 complete!

In a recent interview President of Nintendo of America Reggie Fils-Amie said that he believed that “there certainly will be more games launched for the Wii.” Adding, “We believe there are still millions more systems to be sold.” While most gamers and journalist blew this comment off as pandering PR speak it seems that there was some truth to those words as we can now confirm that Nintendo will be bringing the long awaited Xenoblade Chronicles to North America this upcoming April.
