The beloved PS2 mascots could be getting a 1080p facelift.
While it has been a big year for video games so far, one thing that stands out is the ascendance of the HD re-release. 2011 has seen Beyond Good & Evil, Resident Evil 4, and Ico/Shadow of the Colossus already released, and that doesn’t even take into account the upcoming releases of Metal Gear Solid and Silent Hill.
Collector's edition is "soul'd" out all over.
Demon’s Souls was published in the U.S. by Atlus in 2009. The game was a smash hit for the company, who is known for doing small production runs of their more niche titles. It’s safe to say that Atlus was not prepared for how well the game would be received, both from critics and consumers, and the game was difficult to find not long after launch. Atlus would eventually do another print run, but the success of Demon’s Souls was something that the well-respected publisher underestimated.

Not even gravity can keep John Rochard down.
Initially I wasn’t sure what to expect from Rochard. Conceptually it comes off as a one note affair -- the imaginative love child of programmers who had way too much fun with the gravity gun from Half-Life 2 and decided to base an entire game around the physics-bending concept. Gravity manipulation certainly is an interesting enough game mechanic, but is it enough to carry an entire game?
Looks like we'll be playing none of the above. Smash Bros. Brawl between Chris and Jason it is!
At the time of this post, Metroid: Other M is the leading candidate for this week's Monday Night PlayBit. However, there are several other options. A Boy and His Blob, WarioLand: Shake It!, and Xenoblade Chronicles number among them. Shadow Complex is another possibility on a different console, as is Mega Man X 2. One thing is certain: This week's PlayBit will begin at 8 PM EDT and end at 9 PM EDT. It's another "short" PlayBit, so join us for an hour-long glimpse at one of these games... Better yet, let me know which one you'd like to see me play! Edit: A surprise, last-minute vote chose a different game. Guess which one?! Starting very soon!
