What is this, I don't even...
This week, Julian takes you on a strange trip, highlighting some of the most bizarre games to ever grace home consoles. These games often break with conventions and defy description, and they have little in common apart from making people scratch their heads. And that's what makes them great. So buckle up, Dorothy, because Kansas is going bye-bye!
It's all about the ambiance, baby!
Sometimes, amazing graphics and great gameplay just aren't enough. You need to be able to set the scene just right, and a lot of times the perfect piece of music will do just that. This week on Digital Mystery Tour, Julian brings you some songs that excel at setting the mood for the moment or level that the appear in. From ethereal trance music to something that will run a chill up your spine, these songs are all about ambiance.
When music actually KEEPS you from playing a game
It's happened to all of us, well the music lovers anyway. We boot up a game we're excited to play, settle in for the opening few moments, and at some point the game asks us to do one of the easiest things in the world: Press Start. And the music is so good, we just can't do it.
Sit by the fire and listen to Sound in Action.
Welcome! Please come in and make yourselves comfortable. It's all about that down home feeling this week, and Julian has a wonderful selection of songs that should make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
These are memories frozen in time, people!
They say that 1998 was the greatest year for gaming, and it's hard to argue that point! Julian certainly doesn't try, as he highlights some music from some of the biggest games of that fabled year. Enjoy this episode of Sound in Action, and let us know some of the songs and games you think of from 1998.
The stage is set, the green flag drops!
Ok, I didn't exactly follow the typical SIA format, but if you're gonna kick off a podcast with Bad to the Bone, you better be the kind of guy that writes his own rules. This weeks feature? Music to blow up your fellow racers by, because any competition is so much better when things can explode.
