Sega Officially Announces Shinobi for 3DS

Developed by Griptonite Games, the long anticipated title will arrive in stores this September.

Today, Sega officially announced Shinobi for the 3DS, in development at Griptonite Games. The game's existence was originally leaked in a resume posted on LinkedIn and again later on the cover of Nintendo Power. According to the press release, players will once again be able to experience the classic side-scrolling gameplay this September.

Rayman 3D Review

Being the definitive version of Rayman 2 isn't saying much.

Alright, let’s address the elephant in the room: Rayman 3D is a cheap cash-in port of the Dreamcast version of Rayman 2. No, the game has not been enhanced in any meaningful way other than the addition of stereoscopic 3D - and no, it doesn’t in any way actually enhance the gameplay. Yes, at times, I even encountered a few instances where the game completely froze up, thus forcing me to hard reset my 3DS. All of this aside, Rayman 3D is still an enjoyable experience - one that has lost some of its luster over time. Thanks to the circle pad on the 3DS, the game controls like a dream, and the 3D, while nothing significant, adds some nice visual flair, giving the game a bit of extra charm. All things considered, this release of Rayman 2 is the definitive one.

Best Buy Getting 3DS DLC Stations

Best Buy and Nintendo to offer unique 3DS downloadable content

Nintendo and Best Buy announced that they are planning to install 1000 Nintendo 3DS hot spots in Best Buy stores throughout the United States. These stations will be able to offer up automatic wireless access to patrons starting June 7. A "variety of fun content" will be available such as new SpotPass features, movie trailers, exclusive offers and other bonus goodies. It is not known at this point if the movie trailers will showcase the 3D capabilities of the new handheld.

Of Arwings and Star Foxes

Can Nintendo’s anthropomorphic wingmen make a comeback? Sure they can. The question is who will make it possible.

What the hell happened to Star Fox? Despite Nintendo being famous for developing and publishing high quality games, the Star Fox series has taken a nosedive. I loved both Star Fox on the SNES, its unreleased sequel for the same system and Star Fox 64, one of the best Nintendo 64 games ever.

eShop and Internet Browser Coming to 3DS on June 6

A system update will allow players to access the new features, though they are coming a bit later than promised.

Yesterday night, Nintendo announced that a new system update will be coming to the Nintendo 3DS on June 6. This update will provide players access to the eagerly awaited eShop as well as Internet browsing abilities.

Tales of Graces f and Tales of the Abyss 3DS Confirmed for North American Release

North American Tales fans will get a double dose of the popular JRPG in the coming months.

North American Tales series fans won't have to wait much longer to get their Tales fix. Two Tales games will be making their way to American shores, the first of which is due out later this year. Tales of the Abyss 3D is a port of the original game, which released on the PlayStation 2 in 2006. Developers have promised that this remake will not only keep everything fans loved about the original, but that the game will feature fully remastered graphics that take full advantage of the 3DS hardware.

Steel Diver Preview

One of the more unique games to launch with the 3DS.

Steel Diver has a rather odd history. Originally a Nintendo DS tech demo, the game appeared to be one of those neat concepts that never came to fruition. A generation later the game is set to release as a 3DS launch title.
