Wii would like to try some games...

Believe it or not but there are still some Wii games that I've yet to try. From all the last gen systems, the Wii is the oldest console I own. I had a Wii for a long time and I've played all the great games, there are still some games that have slipped my radar. Some might be obscure. Just like my PS3 list, I'll make a list. But before I do, here are some links to blogs you might of missed:

Playdos loves Metrovania

EpicGreenman's Portable Ops

daftman wants Garfield on a a diet

Ben is strange

whatsacow loves New Vegas

NSonic79's Olympic Games

Travis Hawk's Kong a Day 6

Vice's Assistant talks Sonic redesign

Alex-C25's favorite Wii 2D platformers

And with that out of the way, here are the Wii games I've yet to try:

http://www.blogcdn.com/www.joystiq.com/media/2010/02/flingsmash224.jpg

Flingsmash: Flingsmash from what I remember was a 2D platformer from Nintendo. If I remember you controlled the game using the then newfangled Wiimotion Plus tech. Not sure if it was good, it did get above average reviews, plus it comes with a Wiimotion Plus controller. You can never have too many of those.

Fortune Street: I think I remember reading about this game in Nintendo Power. I think they said it was a party game in the vein of Monopoly or something. It also features Mario and Dragon Quest characters in the game. It's pretty cheap so it's worth a look.

Rhythm Heaven: I'm not one for rhythm based games but I did try Elite Beat Agents and that game was probably the best and onlyr rhythm game I'll ever try. Till I found out about this. There was a Rhythm Heaven game on the GBA but it never released here. There is one on the DS but heard the touch controls aren't accurate. This one on the Wii is what people say it's the best in the series. It looks fun, and it's practically free on Amazon.

Epic Mickey: I knew about this game from a long time ago, and heard alot of the darker tones were changed. I heard the game was okay but I like Disney and that is enough for me to try it, if I see it at a bargain.

Sin and Punishment: I know little about this series. I know that the first game was never released here. It came to the Wii Virtual Console as part of it's import title section. The second game came to the Wii and heard it's an on-rails shooter. Heard it was pretty good. It was also made by Treasure, I only have one game from them. The game is Wario World.

http://www.segabits.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/segabits-madworld-propellar.jpg

Mad World: I heard plenty about this game. It was made to show people that the Wii can have M-Rated Mature Hardcore games or something. I heard that it also has a neat artstyle. It's black and white and the only other color is red, for the blood. These guys went on to work on Sonic Colors on the Wii. A drastic departure from Mad World.

Fragile Dreams: I read about this on Nintendo Power a long time ago as a preview articles. The game is an rpg that takes place in Japan or something and you have to escape, I think. I also heard it's like Fallout. That got me interested in it. I'll try this since this is the close I'll get to a Fallout game that takes place in Japan.

http://wiimedia.ign.com/wii/image/article/849/849564/baroque-20080204053429319_640w.jpg

Baroque: This game is actually one I've always wanted to try but never did. I always saw it at stres like K-Mart at discounted prices but never picked it up. I heard it is some sort of dungeon crawler with a risk-reward system. State_Alchamist recommended it to me and if there is one thing I like, is game recommendations from friends.

http://www.smh.com.au/ffximage/2007/02/21/live_excite_wideweb__470x261,0.jpg

Excite Truck: This was originally a Wii launch title if I'm remembering correctly. I never had a Wii at launch till 2007 so I passed it. I did try it's sequel or spiritual successor ExciteBots and loved it. It's a game with animal vehicles that transform into robots and do crazy shit while racing. Like throwing pies at clowns while flying while trying to grind a rail while avoiding getting destroyed by other racers. I don't think Excite Truck is anything like Excite Bots but I'll try it.

http://www.vooks.net/img/2012/04/PandorasTower-Featured-525x399.jpg

Pandora's Tower: This was originally one of the trio of Japanese rpgs Nintendo didn't want to bring to the west. They did bring Xenoblade and third-parties did eventually bring the rest. I heard PT is like Castlevania with different endings. Heard it wasn't as good as the othet 2 but worth playing. I wanted it just for the sake of having all 3 but I actually want to play it before it becomes rare.

Those are all the Wii games I want to try at some point. Are there any Wii games you haven't tried? Thanks for reading and later.

Sin and Punishment was fantastic. One of my favorite Wii games for sure. You're not missing out on anything with Epic Mickey though, as mediocre as games get.

Yeah I remember reading your blog on it years ago. I'll get it if I see it at a price I'm willing to pay. And guess I'll skip EM then.

There's a rythm game better than EBA?! I accept that challenge.

As for Mad World, delivering final blows to bosses with the Wiimote was fun. Only played a little at a friend's dorm back when.

Not sure if it's better than EBA but I heard it's almost just as good. I really want Mad World, and those finishers sound cool.

Have you ever tried Zack & Wiki?  If not, you need to put that on your list, alongside Klonoa.

Doh, I knew I forgot some. If Zak and Wiki isn't too expensive then I'll get it. Along with Klonoa.

Nice list! Lots of good titles on there (minus Epic Mickey, like Greenman said, it's no good). If you're looking for a few more suggestions, check out this article on Unsung Wii Games we produced shortly before the Wii U came out.

Thanks alot Nick, I missed all of these games. And I'll skip Mickey then. Thanks for the link, I'll give it a read.

within the past year I picked up Pandora's Tower, Madworld and Sin and Punishment.  Like all games on my backlog, I am looking forward to playing them when I finally decide to take the time to.

I wanted to get Pandora's Tower at launch but got Injustice instead. I wanna get it soon along with the games you mentioned.

That reminds me, I need to pick up Pandora's Tower eventually. I also tried to get Madworld about a year ago, but it never showed up in the mail. At least I got a refund when it was all said and done.

Same here, I wanna snap it up before it becomes rare. And that sucks, maybe it got lost or stolen. But you got a refund atleast.

Hey, thanks for the shout.

From your list, I want to play Sin and Punishment and MadWorld, and from other games I don't have, I want to play Muramasa, the remake of Klonoa, the two No More Heroes and Zack & Wiki.

Before you decide to buy Epic Mickey, keep in mind you will be playing with very inacuarate controls and a not so good camera. I enjoy the game, but that aspect is very frustrating.

Captain N

No problem. I wanna play all of those games too, except No More Heroes 1 and 2, since I played 1 on the PS3, and I've yet to play 2, I have it though. I think I'll skip Mickey, seeing as everyone says it ain't that good.

Thanks for the shout out! Really I want to try Kirby's Epic Yarn. When it came out, I had just gotten my PS3 which became the focal point of my gaming. Now with PS3 releases slowing down, I want to try and get some of the stuff I missed like that.

Captain N

I got my PS3 around the same time, but my brother got itsince he's a huge Kirby fan. It's pretty cheap so I would recommend it. And good point, that's why I'm making these blogs to see what I missed.

Those are awesome choices. I've played a lot of them but not Fragile Dreams or SIn & Punishment. Those look really cool.

One I bought but haven't tried yet is Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces. It's by Access Games who did Ace Combat games on PSP and DS and Deadly Premonition and it's based on a anime movie The Sky Crawlers directed by Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell) which I saw and thought was really good.

Captain N

I haven't played none of these sadly. And Innocent Aces, I knew I forgot one. I was really interested in the game when I read about it. I should check out the anime movie of it.

There's always one more. I think I have all that I want for a system and then another one pops up. It never ends.

I still haven't gotten a Wii. Over half of these games are ones I've considered playing though. And yeah, I'd completely forgotten about Fragile Dreams. I've heard a lot of good things about that.

Captain N

It is pretty cheap and there are alot good games on it. I'd say pick one up, unless you don't mind paying extra and just get a Wii U, since it plays Wii games. I also want to try Fragile Dreams too.
