Time Warner's cable guy came today unexpectedly and everything worked again ... then the cable guy left and it all stopped working again ... then many hours later after we told them what happened and troubleshooted, it was back on.

Just heard this from a friend on Facebook who was watching their conference. If I own my games for it (I need this confirmed beyond "plays used games" as per Microsoft's trickiness), I'm sold ... when a price drop happens, and I have the money to spend on consoles.

So if you're wondering where I was, I had a job opportunity with Moxie Pest Control selling year-long contracts door-to-door. Yesterday, after having studied the manual cover-to-cover, buying a new belt, and getting pumped for the opportunity to earn $20,000+ in a summer while I psyched myself up over the weekend, I sold two accounts, which I was repeatedly told was a great first day.

Both Tim Vines, director at Civil Liberties Australia, and Peter Schaar, Berlin's federal data protection commissioner, have questioned Xbox One's need to have a microphone/camera device (Kinect 2.0, in this case) in order to operate the console, and argue the machine could simply be a thinly veiled surveillance device.
