Today I brought my copy of Namco Museum Virtual Arcade to my friend's place so I could play some 1984 arcade classics. Then it was back to Minecraft. The day looked kinda similar to yesterday really. 

In keeping with the 1984 theme today, I watched Ice Pirates staring Robert Urich. Angelica Huston was also in it, as was John Carradine and Ron Perlman. This is not a good movie. It's supposed to be funny too, and it just wasn't. You may be thinking, "well, at least it has some good scifi space visuals and such." but don't bother because it's like they found a closet on the Hollywood lot with all this extra stuff from every type of movie and cobbled it all together. It's lazy in every way from visuals to script. In every scene, I predicted what would be said or happen and had a better outcome in my mind. To top it all off, the ending had no impact at all and felt like nothing really happened in the movie. Bah! 

I went a little nuts this week with music. I'll have to reign it in a little bit somehow in the future, but for now I'm happy with it. And I finally got a current gen capable TV. 32 inch, 1080p with HDMI ports. I'm ready for any of the new systems I want to get. I got it for $200 at Best Buy. At that price, I couldn't say no. I went there initially because my 3DS told me a special Mii was going to be there this weekend. I'll take a look at that later tonight. So here are pics of all the stuff.

Yea, I messed up my math on my last blog. I should be reliving 1985 this week according to my system, and not 1984. Oh well, I'm stopping now. Next week, I'll get back on track with 1986. 

It's a little game I've been playing with music. Each week of the year is another year in the history of music. The last week of the year represents the current year. So count backwards to this week, the 22nd week of 2015, and you get 1984.

Welcome to my day in game world. 

I played about five different video games today while my friend Mark played Minecraft. It mostly confirmed the fact that I'm not much of a platform guy or a puzzle game guy. Still, there's always something of interest to me in these games that makes me want to play them. I don't often finish them though. 

Just wanted to post a pic of all the music and a game I got this week. Now that my game list is settled for the time being, I'm now obsessing over music and collecting hard, but within a budget. Pictured below is a lot of vinyl, a CD, and a 3DS game. Not pictured are the five CD albums I got from the library. Most of this music is filling my 1969 Other playlist. I realized, after seeing lots of great albums not described as either prog rock or metal, that I needed another category so I could listen to them too. This is my first week haul and it was big. I'll list 'em all after the pic.

I'll say it again. Never joke about Minecraft. It'll eat your soul. I ditched all my other gaming plans and played it with my friend Mark all day today and didn't want to stop even after all that time. All the details are described below.
