I had one game on my to-play list that wasn't at least eight years old, and so I was able to locate it at a Gamestop in my area. I was off again to pick up another video game but this time at a most nonretro store. PIcture below.

I went to the other Jay St. Video Game store in my area and grabbed a few things. They had a storm trooper outfit in the front window with a Santa hat on. This store also had three gaming stations set up so you could try any game before you buy it. I thought that was really cool. I saw just tons of great retro systems and games, but I stuck to my list and got what's pictured below.

Since I'm thinking of taking a break from Borderlands, I put together a short list of games I'd like to play next. I chose about twelve, then went about seeing if I had them all in my collection. I didn't and so I went out today to my local retro game store, Jay St. Video Games, in the mall and then hit a Gamestop there too. The result is as you see below.

Allgame.com, a database of video games, easily searchable, and full of information about every game for every system, is shutting down on December 12th.

I recently picked up a whole box of old Dragon Magazines at a library book sale, about 60 of them, starting with this issue #65. I started reading them a little bit and found them to be really fun to revisit. Since a lot of this stuff intersects with video gaming in many ways, I thought I'd take a few notes and share some interesting things I came across while reading them. Oh yes, and my favorite part: scans of covers, ads and artwork that caught my eye. 

I'm almost done with the main game of Borderlands The Pre-Sequel. I've only got a few more achievements to chase before the first major DLC hits on the 14th. I can't play more today though because my car is in the shop and my 360 is at my friend's place. With a train ride and a 2 mile walk, I can get there, but I overslept and now it's not worth the trip. I'll have to wait until next Sunday.

So, possibly the last set of notes I'll make for Brett Weiss' book The 100 Greatest Console Video Games: 1977-1987. As Bob and Doug Mckenzie might say, "follow along and don't get stuck".

With some slight adjustments to my schedule, I couldn't blog anything Sunday or Monday night like I usually do, but I found some time this afternoon on Tuesdy to do it. I got back from North Carolina on Saturday. On Sunday I hung out with my buddy Mark (aka Mad Krammer) and we played Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel co-op all day and then again on Monday until Xbox Live crashed around 9pm. Turns out some hacker group turned them off again. I don't know how that all worked itself out, but I hope it all got fixed. I want to do more co-op gaming next weekend.
