GLaD 17: Celebrating an Italian on St. Paddy's (Sabbath Sunday+Solar Srtiker)

So much great stuff in this blog to discuss. First off,I saw Dio slay a dragon! It was on the Sacred Heart tour. Vivian Campbell was still his guitarist then. Sure it was a fake one,but it was pretty cool. Guy was a great showman, have to admit. I was such a huge Sabbath fan growing up. Ozzy was an icon to me,a living legend. The entire band was like that to me. So when Dio came along on Heaven and Hell I had my doubts. They were quickly blown away by his greatness. No one like him ever. The work he did with Rainbow and Sabbath will live forever. Just like his fine solo albums will. The man only seemed to get the respect he deserved once he started Dio. He was one of a kind.

"We all need...the human touch" as Rick Springfield said one time way back. And it's true. Gaming needed to change into a more cinematic, realistic sort of medium. Old Lara was ok with me. I could even play stinkers like Angel Of Darkness and get some joy from them. I like the character. She did not need to have enormous boobs for me to like her. I liked her style and wit. This newest Lara is by far the best. This is what she should have always been like. And as far as super hero types? Look at Duke Nukem. Didn't do too hot. People are over it. They expect far more than in the 80's.

METAL MONDAY! MARCH METAL MADNESS EDITION!

Helker is fantastic! Why have I not heard of them? So good....that singer is influenced by Dio I think. But the song does have sort of an Iron Maiden vibe. Clutch is some good stoner metal. I have heard of them before. Like their style very much.

Clive Burr....what a loss. Great drummer he was. He was the drummer when I first got into Maiden. After the release of Killers. I saw the original singer,Paul DiAnno,on That Metal Show last season. Guy is still out there plugging away! Looks like some great music. I will be back to listen to all of them later on today.

I just wonder how they do that! Must take a lot of coloring, whatever it is.

I've slowed down quite a bit. Getting too old for it. Still like a good beer or a spot of whiskey now and then, though. Today is perfect for it.

Tami named the one I like the best,Jade. You gotta love green lipstick on a woman. I own a Gamecube, yet have never bought Luigi's Mansion. I must get that!

I own the fist two games and will be starting soon. This series has always fascinated me,yet the scope of it all intimidates me. Knowing that my decisions will have lasting effects on the story will be wild. My son understands the game very well. He has the books and graphic novels. He will help me get started and on the right path.

I think it would be really fun to play Celtic music live. The bands always seem to be having a blast.

Larkin probably was drunk! They come to the stage when they are good and ready. Gotta down a few pints beforehand. Just to get the blood pumping!
