And that's what amazes me is when I find someone who isn't as familar with SNK, becasue around these parts they seemed to be everywhere. Just proves my theory that SNK may have had a better distribution center in Texas than in Arizona.
Maybe I'm a bigger SNK fan than what I think I am, but I don't feel like many of their games are forgettable.
I actually didn't mind Skyward Sword that much. Motion controls didn't bother me that much, and I didn't even mind Fi most of the time. My only big problem with the game was the lack of exploration. Even the 'overworld' sections were like dungeons in a way.
I haven't gotten the HD version yet. I'm thinking about wating and asking for it for my birthday or Christmas. I don't feel like I have to play it RIGHT away. Even though it's been ten years, it doesn't feel that long ago since I played the original game. I do have the amiibo figure, though. Is it just me or are amiibo figures getting harder to get nowadays?
I liked that you called Groose "Biff Tannen." That's exactly what I called him in the game! Every time he showed up I expected him to say, What're you lookin' at, butthead?" One thing about Skyward Sword is that it has more character development than any other Zelda game. Even minor characters change over the course of the adventure. Even Link, who usually doesn't change much at all since he's just an extension of the player, but it felt like he changed a bit, too.
Have you ever watched the YouTube videos "If Link Could Talk." The ones for Skyward Sword are especially hilarous.
Even though I had played Final Fantasy and Dragon Warrior on the NES at a friend's house and had fun, it really wasn't until FF4 came out that I really got into RPGs. I know the story is trite by today's standards, but back then it was pretty revolutionary and was one of the first times I kept playing a game just to see what would happen next. The amazing musical score helped, too. Along with FF6 and FF9, FF4 is one of my favorite FF games.
The PSP version is actually pretty nice. It has all the stuff from the PSOne game, plus the extra dungeons and items from the GBA version, and it also comes with The After Years and its prologue.
It does have more varied graphics than the water, clouds, and small islands of 1943. I don't know if the planes would be considered more realistic, though.
Eh, it's just a lesser 1943.
There were some NEO GEO games on Wii Virtual Console, but I'm not sure if Blazing Star was one of them. I know Blazing Lasers was, though, because I downloaded it as well. One of the best TG-16 shooters. It was made by Compile you know. That's one thing I liked about Hudson Soft. back then is that they really supported the Wii with original games and downloadable titles and lots of their TG-16 catalog on Virtual Console. That's how I first discovered a lot of TG-16 gems since I never had one as a kid.

I never really played this game, but I saw it a lot at demo stations at game stores and computer places like Babbage's. I only remember the first part of the game where the buffalo monster thing chases you.
