Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising A Very Realistic FPS Military Sim

Posted on 07/29/2013 at 11:32 PM | Filed Under Blogs

The screenshots actually look better to me than Modern Warfare, but I am viewing at a distance, so pixelation is not an issue for me. I can understand how a more realistic shooter would get frustrating. I remember when SOCOM Navy Seals was a big deal, and people loved it, but also got frustrated with one hit kills. But for me, it sounds like it would be a refreshing change of pace.

I don't have a PC though, and I'm not really a big FPS guy, but it does seem like a good game.

No, but I can see why you would think that.

The game I'm talking about had a sleeker, more futuristic look to it, though. Something called DeathKarz caught my attention when I was looking at Wikipedia's list of racing games, but I don't think that's it either, and it's definitely an incomplete list. I don't think I even saw F-Zero on it. Any of them! Of course, I did just find a list of futuristic racing games that does include that and Wipeout, so fingers crossed.

Never played it, but Big Top looks like Donkey Kong X Crash Man's stage from Mega Man. Mostly cause ladders. You would think Top Man's stage, but no.

It actually turns out it was a game called Spectre, but thank you! Any suggestion is much appreciated!

I don't know, but that tire puzzle always stumped me. And you are right, thank you!

I've already done exactly that leading up to this blog. I just figure maybe Pixlbit has ebough of a retro community that this might sound familiar to some people. Like I said, I have already done some digging, but as you pointed out, there are so many damn games it becomes exhausting.

I am not, but it sounds familiar. I will look it up.

I remember my family rented that and HATED it. The only scene I really remember from it was the phone sex scene, and at the time it just didn't look like the tone of movie I wanted to watch. In fact, that is probably one of those movies where I remember myself and especially the older people who watched it saying, "Jesus Christ, what is wrong with these movie critics, they said this was supposed to be funny?!"

I might like it if I watched it now, though.

Of PTA's movies, I have only fully seen The Master and There Will Be Blood. My friend's favorite movie of all time is Boogie Nights, but I never seem to be able to find it.

Gamers are often fickle and immature, and Jessica Nigri is hot. I already knew these things. lol

I gotta say, this might not be my favorite band you've done on here, but they are certainly one of the more accessible. I like their style, will check them out some more.
