ROB MACKLEY! I did one of those honest to god laugh snort things when I saw that. GOLD man!
OK, It's back up. Sorry again guys!
No, but not for the reasons everybody is up in arms over. I plan on moving to PS4 mostly because they import more Japanese games than MS does, and I think Destiny will be my new Halo / Borderlands title. Early last gen, Microsoft seemed to be very interested in getting Japanese exclusives (see Tales of Vesperia and Lost Odyssey) but they totally abandoned the east after a few years. I kinda feel like it was a bait and switch. If I stick with a Japanese console, then it stands to reason I'll get the lion's share of Japanese exclusives.
Guys, I'm very sorry about this, but we're having some technical troubles with podcasts at the moment, so if you're pushing play and nothing is happening, well that's why. I should be able to get it back up by tomorrow morning.
Here's a few thoughts I didn't manage to get into the show:
1) Destiny looks amazing and, should I jump ship to Sony, which is looking very likely, I think it will scratch the HALO itch just fine.
2) Here's something nobody is talking about, but I feel is important: There's a problem with trying to attract a new audience using sequels to well rooted franchises, especially considering the lack of previous gen compatibility. For example, Killzone might be pretty fun, but how am I supposed to be excited about jumping into the games without being able to play any of the earlier titles? Makes no sense!
I think there was something else I wanted to say, but I forget it now. Anyway, yeah, despite me playing Devil's Advocate for MS, I'll probably end up with a PS4 unless something weird happens, like the console is shown to have an extremely high failure rate.
Tactics has a great attract mode, but it demos HORRIBLY. The first thing you encounter is the worst thing in the entire game. Two words:
L I T T L E M O N E Y.
I can only imagine that worked better in Japanese where it's probably like... 3 characters or something.
Except here, because you guys are awesome!
If the past couple of weeks have taught me anything, it's that being a jackass is not limited to any particular boarder. I don't know if I'm willing to say "oh Japan" at this so much as "that guy's a tool."
