The 3D remake on XBLA/PSN is trash. I don't remember why exactly but I quit it very quickly. The original is just like Advance Wars, if you've ever played that, and just as fun.

Yea , sometimes it's something from a game that's not supposed to be a horror game. I remember Max Payne and that crying baby during the dream sequence where you had to walk along lines of blood. My hands started shaking after a while it unnerved me so much.
There's so many bad video game licensed comics. Thank god I don't still try and read them. Halo, Borderlands, Mass Effect. . . actually the Mass Effect ones were pretty good, but there are tons of bad ones for every good one.
I know I always felt like I was going to fly right off the screen. Could never control Sonic darn it.
I'm surprised at the 4 stars. Your review sounded like you would give it a perfect score. Not complaining, just saying. What holds it back from that highest score do you think?
I agree that Sonic did what Mario didn't. The speed and aggressive attitude of Sonic were elements lacking in Mario. Sega did a great job making their platformer stand out from the competition.
If I wasn't already booked up with games I'm playing, I'd like to finish Silent Hill: Book of Memories and then play Luigi's Mansion again (both GC and 3DS ones) and then tackle Eternal Darkness, which I have in my collection, and RE4 for Gamecube, which I've been meaning to play for years. Fatal Frame sounds cool too.
I've never really been scared by games although I used to get scared by the dragon in Atari 2600 Adventure. The way it would appear out of nowhere and come at you really fast just freaked me out. It looked like a duck but it had a square-shaped hole in it's stomach just the right size to fit the square-shaped you. . . I'm scaring myself just talking about it right now. Yikes!
Last time I played board games in meatspace was way back. My roommate and I used to play Squad Leader and Car Wars and D&D and then Chess at the coffee shop. Since then I've only played the flatlands translations of board games especially the German ones on XBLA like Catan, Carcassonne, and Ticket to Ride. I bought the actual Carcassonne game, but I have no one to play it with, so it sits on my shelf. I've often thought of joining a group at my local strategy board game store. I love board games. There's so many I'd love to try out there right now.
I probably shouldn't rag on a particular age group. Immaturity can happen at any age. What I really mean is, if someone gets mad because a writer doesn't share their opinion, that's immature. Have a debate. Name-calling is pointless.
This "survival horror" designation is really nothing special. i mean it's just horror in a video game. I'm sure horror has been in games from the beginning, just maybe not as sucessfully scary and interactive as Resident Evil because it's one of the first in a fully 3D environment.
It's just pure immaturity. Can we get a demographic of who are commenting on these reviews? My guess is it skews very young, like teen or below.
